    You would expect it to, given it's a quote from Dane.

    Am guessing "see where we are at the end of the season" means see what league we're in.

    Dane should be in the know and he seems quietly confident about what is in place already. I just hope that we don't get gazumped, or someone decides the contract to purchase can be torn up with minimal costs.

    That really does sound positive from our angle but probably only achievable if we got promoted. Would love to be proved wrong on that though.

    The size of the fee is fairly irrelevant though it's nice to know we could afford it. It's the size of the wages. I would imagine his target wage packet has gone up fivefold in the last two months.

    All the talk of a fee is completely irrelevant. Unless the loan explicitly set out clauses for a fee and his wages and simply required us to convert the loan deal to permanent, like we did with Woodrow, then it comes down to the wishes of the player.

    Even if the fee was agreed with Orlando, the player has to agree personal terms and can simply ignore any approach from us if a bigger club he likes the look of come knocking.

    And frankly, if his being here has assisted in elevating our standing and gives us a good chance of making the playoffs, the loan move in itself is a very good bit of business and highlights the true value of player loans.

    As said above, it's a question of whether a bigger club comes in for him. We've got our deal with Orlando and I believe we can afford it, but Daryl holds all the cards. If Everton or West Ham makes a bid then he'll turn us down and go there.

    If that was the case, we'd be crowing about it and Orlando wouldn't be putting out noises of such a high fee.

    If you recall the announcement when signing Woodrow on loan, it was said from the get go that the permanent signing was a formality.
