I'm pretty sure there will be clauses in there, and he won't be contractually bound to sign for us on a pre-agreed salary. unless his agent is a total idiot.
I’d advise everyone that unless we get promoted there’s not a chance that he joins us & the same goes for Mowatt. If we’re a championship club we won’t even get close to what they’re offered elsewhere.
I thought all contracts in US sport were in the public domain. Wages, buy outs, everything. Totally transparent.
Admittedly, I'm not the best at finding stuff on the internet but I can't find any actual contract details posted anywhere. I'd love a link.
I haven't done any research. I just looked to see if I could find his wages and found it in about 10 seconds.
I just typed Orlando City SC player salaries into Google, got loads of returns. That was one search, took seconds, I'm sure you can find any detail you like, like I say they're public domain.
Orlando City Players Salaries 2020 Contract Details (Confirmed) (sportekz.com) $180,000 a year. No details of value or his loan agreement or buyout clause. I ran out of seconds to look beyond anymore sites ;-)
I haven't had a good look into it, literally just seconds. I know the information is available, I believe it is for all professional sports teams, but I don't know from which sites you can gather accurate and up to date information. I also don't know to what detail the available data goes. Salary is certainly available, as I believe are buy out clauses, but I don't know about individual loan deals like ours. I wouldn't have thought so, but we have an entirely different culture based on secrecy. The US believe sports stars work for the community they represent so their salary should be available, that may also hold true for all contracts involving the team but I haven't researched it. We have a number of users of this forum with a lot closer ties to the US than I do, some living there, they'll know far more about it than I do and undoubtedly have a better idea where to look.
But Murphy insists the Reds have a clause in the deal which means they can buy Dike ahead of anyone else, as long as they can agree personal terms.
What I don't understand is, why, if the fee is "achievable" regardless what league we're in, aren't we just saying we'll trigger it and have the discussion with the player? If he turns us down, he turns us down. But if you don't ask you don't get.
We’re not likely to know what is or isn’t being negotiated. The fact that we know we have an option we are happy with is about all we can expect until we hear that he’s either signed or is leaving. In the same way that we know we have made offers to AM and that negotiations are ‘ongoing’. We can’t really expect ‘we’ve offered £10k PW but he’s said he’ll let us know’.
Doubt we will agree personal terms with him now unless we made the premier league and even then I don’t think we would. So I reckon this deal is dead. Just enjoy him whilst he’s here.
Just listening to Colin talking about Dike he says he's the best centre forward in the Championship coming from him means he's really good, love or hate Colin he's a true football man and knows what he's on about, If I was the owners with their amount of money I would buy him at the price offered to Barnsley when we took him on loan be it 10,15 or whatever millions they cannot lose out what's the lad going to be worth in a couple of years time.
