Early reports show a massive pandemic impact on club finances. Think Liverpool are tipped to lose 120 million.

There is no relegation in the NFL, but games typically remain competitive. Granted the NFL season was only 16 games, so perhaps it might be different, but I can't imagine a game like Arsenal v AC Milan where the sides aren't trying.

I think I would get more enjoyment out of watching a super league as I'd be watching in the knowledge that it wasn't harming every other club in pyramid. The current PL/CL setup hurts everybody, particularly in our league. We've felt it badly as teams throw money chasing the dream. A rebalanced football league would be better for the game as a whole, and if that means losing those big six then so be it.

The European Super League does nothing but hurt the rest of the footballing pyramid. It will suck the money and life out of the rest of the european leagues if it's successful.

I'm not sure I'd feel much sympathy.

Wasn't there some crazy stat that the difference in value of the last TV deal to the one prior meant that all PL clubs could have let all fans in free for the duration of the deal and STILL made a profit? If that is the case, and you still lose 120£ then you have to take a look at your trading.

Let’s face it, If/when this happens, it would be the thin end of a very thick wedge. They’ll be no rebalancing as The PL would soon look to follow suit in that all the perceived big clubs (irrespective of current league positions) would be invited to join 2 leagues and I’m afraid the EFL wouldn’t be able to exist on the scraps left. This isn’t just a case of losing the ‘big six’ and that’s that, it would be the end of many clubs, including those that have been run responsibly and sustainable.

End of season NFL games can be terrible, teams who want to tank for prime draft picks and reduce the salary totals. Look at the Dolphins, Jags and Jets in past few seasons.

This league won't have a salary cap, it'll be obscene.

The Packer cricket league was set up to get cricketers a proper pay rise. It was necessary, cricket boards were taking advantage of players. That was the only time a break away league was needed and did a lot of good for everyone involved in the sport.

The money and life is already being sucked out. Reading lost what, £40m over the past few years? ******* Reading. Norwich have smashed the league this year and will be odds on for relegation next year. It is a ***** state of affairs. I look forward to a League where Everton, West Ham, even clubs like Forest, Ipswich, Sunderland, and maybe perhaps us might be able to look at getting into the top flight and being successful, beyond the "success" of finishing 17th.

I get that, but as I’ve put in a previous post, I doubt the PL would just continue with the existing structure/arrangement, they will to a lesser extent follow suit and basically the EFL can do one

Top 10 finish 1st year, then push for Champions league. Barnsley vs Sampdoria in Champions League semi sounds good to me

I wouldn't want a league like that. Only 19 teams so our top flight made even smaller and clubs like Sheffield United getting to avoid relegation, which is one of the things that's bad about the ESL.
