And the ghost of Jimmy Hill will be wandering the corridors of the PFA, shaking his head and rubbing his chin.
Worse case scenario and one I can unfortunately see occurring is that the football governing bodies have and let them have their way, in return for a slice of the profit.kick em out now!
I can't see how it won't happen. Contracts have been signed. Language of "founding members"... they are in it, they've committed. Money is seemingly invested to start it. You can tell it's going to happen when you've the howls from supporters clubs, FA's leagues, governing bodies and governments and even the prevalent mood music on Sky, the irony. This is happening. I don't see how you get greedy genies back in their bottles in a corporate world when money is king.
The companies linked to this are huge, to boycott watching the league you'll also need to think about boycotting almost every major media and financial service provider going. The government are supposedly against it, whats betting some of em have a finger in the pie.
I can't see it happening, but wouldn't be surprised if it did. I was confused about whether they were 'breaking away' to form another league and leaving the Prem. Then I read that they wanted to stay in the Prem and the domestic cups, as well as play their ESL games. My initial thought was how you hear every single season the top 5/6 teams moaning about the playing schedules and how many games they have to play. Then they sign up for a load more. Obviously they won't care about the domestic leagues because that's not where the money will be any longer. Let them go. Hopefully it'll backfire and fans will 'break away' to other clubs who want to be a part of English football.
It will happen, it is happening. Too much money has been sunk into it all ready for it not to happen.
How much do you suspect they'll have put in already though? Maybe you're right. They should be punished by the PL at least. Making a mockery of it all with absolutely no respect.
I'm assuming millions in exploratory legal stuff, plus the finance for the actual league is already in place as far as I can tell.
H Hmmm. I'm not that sure too much will have been spent at this stage. Maybe I'm wrong. Seems to me they are just dipping their toe in the water and seeing what the reaction is. Or maybe they want to be booted out of the PL so they can say it wasn't them that made the decision.
Reports are that the founding members are being paid somewhere in the region of 300m euros to come on board. And they've signed contracts in agreement. Thats a 23 year commitment.
Was added that UEFA are speaking with lawyers tomorrow and that Ceferins comments were his personal views. How Ceferin has made his way to the head of UEFA after his involvement in the Russia bid and the vanishing computer hard drives, I've no idea... oh... hang on.... In other news, the EPL clubs (14) are meeting tomorrow, excluding the 6 rebel breakaway clubs.

What's the England Euro 2020 squad if the players are banned? Jordan Pickford, Declan Rice, Kevin Donovan?
