Chaplin, Thomas and one other liked the BFC tweet about fans.
Of course he could , just like if your place of work changes your hours or location you don't have to stay contracted to that work.

I'm hoping for two all English European Finals. I quite fancy Arsenal to win the Europa League if they get past Villareal.

I admire your faith in justice here but not sure it works in this case as there is no change really in the day job - I guess a few lawyers might be salivating at the work this could generate for them

There is a change as they'd no longer be affiliated to the FA or able to play international football.

I can see this Super League taking off and ending up with it's own hierarchical structure as more billionaire owned clubs ask to be members. I take Helen's point about diluting it but more clubs will want a piece of this.

It could be wrong but I've kept seeing over the last couple of days that the contracts are all sort of co-signed by the FA or signed under the authority of the FA or something similar so would be invalid in the new league.

The whole point of the ESL is exclusivity, they won't open it up to anyone else unless one of the current clubs becomes unfashionable and another club wants to buy out their franchise contract. More clubs means less money for the founding clubs.

I wouldn't say Everton were unfashionable. One of the "massive clubs". Same goes for Leeds and Aston Villa.

No, I mean one of the ESL clubs, eventually one of them will be looked one by the others as the poor relation (spurs, I'm looking at you) and the other ESL clubs may well vote to kick them out, that spot would be bought by another non-ESL club.

Point is, the ESL won't expand because they won't want to spread the money too thin...

There are rules about player contracts being held by a third party - wasn't that the issue with West Ham and the Argentinian players (Tevaz and Mascherano) a few years ago?

This from the Real Madrid President is as good as anything Johnson could come out with in this new age of newspeak

The European Super League was created "to save football", says Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Perez said the move had been made because young people are "no longer interested in football" because of "a lot of poor quality games".

    Talk about beyond parody

In the BBC article it said the League would expand by up to 5 clubs a year.

Five different teams per year will be invited to take part. There are no plans to include more than 20 teams - no need to share all that lovely cash with more clubs than strictly necessary!

I think sheet 'll hit the fan when the likes of Tottenham realise after 6 matches they aren't going to make the top four play-off and want to go home and compete in the League Cup.

It's a 20 team league, 15 founding clubs and the remaining 5 are temporarily doled out like scraps to other "minor" clubs. It's not an additional 5 teams every year.

That's my understanding anyway, I may well be wrong!

    No I've read it wrong.
