Not sure how true but says online ManUre, Rentboys and Spurs are all chasing him. 17mill buyout clause. Was hoping we would sign him
Even if we got promoted, if one of the teams you mention move for him there is no way we could compete with the personal terms they could offer. At best we would be on a par with Burnley in terms of budgets.
I think we dropped a boll ock with this one not agreeing personal terms like we did with Woodrow when we signed him on loan to buy from Fulham.
I think DK needs to look at Ashley Fletcher. He came here on loan, set the world alight and went to the highest bidder and look where that got him. He seems to have a head on his shoulders and realise that it's playing week in week out that's better. Will he do that with Spurs, Man Utd or Everton?
I get what you say but no young player of 20 years old is going to turn down a megabucks offer from a Prem team, especially if it’s one of the top 6. A player is only ever an injury away from their career unraveling....
Doubt we even had the option. I'd be surprised if the top six weren't planning on bidding for him now. £17m is little more than a punt for them, and he's showing that while he's a bit raw in his build up play, he's got a goalscorer's instinct and gets himself at the right place at the right time. That'll be worth a lot more than £17m if used right. Brewster scored 10 in 20 for Swansea last season, and went for a higher fee.
I know. Just using the Brewster transfer as an example of a Prem club being willing to spend that sort of money based on half a season at this level.
Of all those clubs he is never getting regular first team starts. However, money and wages talk, so I expect him to go
Brewster transfer by SU was the definition of a panic buy with a team with more money than sense. Has he even scored a goal for them yet?
Exactly that , He and his club. Agent took the money option . His performances weren’t managed and the expectation on him was too much . He set himself up for life (if he’s used the money properly) but his football has suffered imo . Think we would have managed him better and the expectation would t have been as intense .
