Some proper trash on that list. Cant believe Sunderland didn't go for stendel when they got Johnson. Would have been a cracking appointment imo. Really want him to get a stable club, fantastic for us

Danny Wilson would do a great job somewhere else. I think he was hard done by in his second spell here. He came in and had to clear out a lot of ***** brought in by the Hillcroft regime. When we did drop down Winnall got injured just as he was hitting form. Put it this way the seven wins in a row that got us into the Play-Off positions in 14/15 would have been better under Wilson than Johnson.

Surely he needs to do both Rotherham and Doncaster just to complete the set.

I don’t know how well he’d do elsewhere but I think he was certainly hard done to here second time round.

In my opinion it’s the toughest job any Barnsley managers had in my lifetime.

Started pre-season with M’Voto, Nyatanga & Jennings as his only 3 senior pros, gave 14 players their senior debuts, Treacy going home with depression, Jennings with tendinitis, Turnbull needing a back operation, Winnall out long term.

Pretty much everything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong.

Compare it to Johnson the following season who apart from Ryan Williams had a pretty much full strength squad to choose from most weeks but did nothing but moan about Williams been missing.

Although I'm pretty sure Winnall wasn't a spreadsheet signing. Wilson identified him and insisted on us signing him.

Wilson wasn't a fan of the young players idea suggested by cryne and wanted to work with some experienced players. He brought in lita and treacy. I enjoyed his 1st spell but that 2nd spell was some of the worst football I've seen in my time. I remember us signing scowen and him leaving him on the bench away at donny, When he was sacked we hadn't won a away game for over 4 months. I think he should just enjoy retirement.

    Eh?

Wilson left us in 17th or there abouts.

The honeymoon period under LJ turned things around.

Quite a few Donny fans are wanting Stendel.
Would love him to get the job.

If Wilson had got us into the Play-Off positions we wouldn't have dropped back out again. Wilson brought in some cracking players. Hourihane, Winnall, Scowen, George Williams. He also gave Davies and Holgate their debuts.

Scowen came in one game before Wilson left and Wilson put him on the bench in the most boring game in bfc history in a away defeat at donny where we didny have a single shot on goal. He brought in lita, treacy and turnbull but turnbull was injured so much he was forced to play davies who was reccomend to the club at the time by Mark crossley

Streaky Johnson does this at every club.

But with Wilson there was no indication we were going anywhere.

I remember his last Game at Home to Fleetwood- Nyatanga and Cranie at full back. Bonkers.

I must have a selective memory I remember the Fleetwood game now. It was a shocker.

Wilsons second spell brought about the most turgid boring football I have ever endured at Oakwell , you are right about his signings although for some strange reason he signed Scowan & then would not play him , the old saying of "never go back " is spot on , it was a mistake to bring him back .

I remember some decent wins in his second spells and great games in defeat too. MK Dons and Notts County we played some great attacking stuff. We battered Scunthorpe but couldn't score a second ended up losing. That was the game Winnall got injured. We pummelled Gillingham 4-1. Yes there were some sheet displays after Christmas, especially away but I'd have given him until the end of the season.
