They are now for anyone who's aged 42 before the end of June. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coron...rus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ I think all adults will be offered one well before the end of July target.
Daughter had hers today in Wales, shes 20 - all her mates also had invites. I don't know if they are doing something different in the ordering, or if they have nearly finished the first round...
Anyone in their 40s by the end of June can book now. 750,000 aged 42-43 booked in a day so they can lower the limit.
I'm 70 and don't get my 2nd jab till the 8th of May mind the admin at Apollo court in Dodworth must be the worst in England over the last 2weeks they have sent me 3 text messages to go for my 1st jab.
Laura just rang up and got her 1st and then rang back and arranged her 2nd for this afternoon. I must admit I work for the NHS and am just as perplexed as she is. She's 31.
An update on this - they had got a load of Pfizer, and decided to use that on the younger people that are more at risk from the AZ jab, so called in the under-30s to get those out of the way. They aren't a load ahead of England
I'm 42, and had AstraZeneca yesterday. My head is banging, and my arm wants to fall off. I only tested positive for the fecking virus in March!
Went to book online but it said nearest place was Wakefield then Sheffield arena. Is there any way I can book to have one in Barnsley rather than travelling 10 miles to have it.
Cheers but tried that already and just get a recorded message. Looks like the online booking is only for the large vaccination hubs and if you want to go more local you have to wait to be contacted. Not good that Barnsley has one of the highest rates still but the nearest large vaccination centres are Wakefield and Sheffield.
Strange, I rang that number to book both my parents vaccinations, got through both times. Second time was only a couple of weeks ago
Lu . Lundwood are doing them , not sure if you have to wait for them to contact you though to book there
Had my second today at Apollo, just as smooth and efficient as first at Priory. At 68 I don’t want to miss another season and away days.
That's not true in our experience. Me and wife had 1st AZ vaccination and both had banging headaches day after. Caught Covid about 3 weeks after jabs but luckily had only mild symptoms. Had 2nd vaccinations last Saturday I.e. already had Covid. Had no reaction whatsoever, not even a sore arm. Seems strange that we'd both be exceptions to the rule.
It's just what I've heard. I haven't had covid and was fine after my first jab but all my friends who had had it suffered with their first vaccine.
I think the banging headache is more to do with which vaccine you had. Everyone I know who had a banging headache had received the AZ vaccine. Not heard of anyone who had the Pfizer who had headaches.
