Do you think we will do one for Norwich as they are the League winners?

I hope we do. There's been a number of occasions when I've seen the opposition do it for us and it's been wonderful.

I hope we do. They deserve one after the tremendous season they’ve had, hopefully they can return the favour next season too. :p

Not sure if one would happen though with us both entering the field from different areas. Plus I wouldn’t be surprised if it was advised against due to covid.

I hope we do. There is absolutely no shame in recognising the achievements of Norwich and hopefully they will roll over and let us win 8 nil as a sign of appreciation :):)

I want them to five us a good game in preparation for the play offs. Show we can put those silly defensive errors to one side and get that press firing on all cylinders again!

I hope so. They certainly deserve it, been excellent. Perhaps due to the virus they've benefitted, just like us, by not losing some of their top players - Aarons, Buendia and Cantwell especially. Farke done very well, but I'd still say Val's achievement was more worthy of the manager of the year award... Maybe Im just bias though! :D

But yes, I hope we do give them guard of honour... Then smash 'em 6-0 :p:D

I agree but I've no problem with Val getting manager of the month in May to hail our return to the top division!

Sold Jamal Lewis to Newcastle for £15million and Ben Godfrey to Everton for £25million. Kept hold of their remaining top players and invested wisely in loan players and permanent transfers such as Oliver Skipp Ben Gibson Jordan Hugill Kirean Dowell.

Very true - although I forgot about Lewis! I really rate Godfrey, was watching a fan channel the other day, suggesting he's been underrated at times by the Everton fans. Also mentioned Holgate being fairly poor this season, probably down to his injury, but they hope with time he will be back to the form of last season.

I hope they stay up next season and keep their better players, be interesting to see their form with having kept the same manager this time round

Looking at the comments I guess I’m in a minority but I find it a bit weird just before going into battle you give a team a guard of honour.

Show the respect after the game for sure. Stick around on the sidelines for the trophy presentation or whatever will happen and give them a well deserved round of applause. But blowing smoke up their bums and bowing down to them before the game? Just, no.

    I am not keen.

The achievements of Norwich should mean nothing to anyone at our club. Norwich employees and fans will be very happy - not sure why we should be expected to recognise it, though.

And, by the same token, do the next opponents of Southend, Northampton or Grimsby boo those teams onto the field? If not, what's the difference between that, and us applauding Norwich?

It's a sport we still play isn't it?
I thought we had just demonstrated in the reaction to the Super League a universal distaste for cynicism and winning at all costs.
They're Champions. Applaud them onto the field for god's sake then go and try and beat them. Showing sportsmanship and respect should have zero effect on our ability or desire to then win the match.
