I wonder if VAR will be used in the play offs , if you consider that it is now a 4 team knock out competition with a prize of around £150 million then getting decisions correct is paramount , I know there are many arguments against the system & on a personal note I am not keen myself , however who ever wins this knock out will have VAR involved in their games for the foreseeable future should they remain in the top flight & it will give both the club & the fans a possible taste of things to come .

    The Brentford manager wants it.

As far as I'm aware, there's an initial outlay to have the right equipment installed so I would imagine it's too late in the day to get it set up.

You are probably right but I just wondered with the games being covered by Sky with their multitude of camera positions and angles etc might come into play along with any VAR equipment / set up etc

Not going to happen. You can't change the playing conditions for a competition (EFL) in the middle of it.

Except for in the case of some crisis like say a global pandemic.

I hear what you are saying but surely the playing conditions have changed, the 46 match season has been completed & the play offs become a knock out competition with 2 legged matches & potential penalty shoot outs for example, so why can"t Var be introduced ?, they did it some of the FA cup matches

Better to leave as it is IMO, all players in all teams are used to playing without.

They couldn’t set it up at the grounds in time.

The final maybe, yeah. Whether it’s at Wembley or elsewhere, wherever it is played is likely to be set up for var - but I don’t think they’ll do it.

Agreed. In principle it would be wrong to change the rules and regs at his point. Added to which, only Bornamuff will already have it in place. Whilst the general standard of refereeing gets worse season on season, I’m not a great enthusiast of VAR as it is currently. It needs some work

100% no or else theres no chance of getting rid of it.Var is the main reason that referees performances are getting worse, with alot of help from the rule makers.

I think the FA Cup games that had VAR were at the grounds that had it already set up. As the playoffs start next Monday, there wouldn't be enough time to set it up

It's still the same competition - promotion from the Championship.

Just need competent, un-biased referees and assistants.

I think using VAR is just showing us how bad referee's really are.

I am not arguing, but it is different rules , penalties & two legs for example ,but I only asked the question whether there would be VAR or not & to be honest I will be pleased if it stays as it is without VAR. footnote : Do you ever wish you had never opened your mouth lol

I for one wish we could have VAR as I can see us getting pillocked by such as Ayew, Tony, etc. At least with VAR the official can check what he thought he saw!
I can't see us getting any favours from the tin gods in charge of our games against the giants of Swansea, Brentford or Bornmuff.

For me, that was a joke.

In the FA Cup, everyone should be equal. Either all have VAR, or no one.

I have to agree. If team's can't have VAR as it takes too long (and too expensive for lower league/non league teams) then it shouldn't be used. Makes a mockery of the whole competition

Might be wrong but don't grounds need to hit certain criteria for VAR to function properly, such as lighting?
