I’m not in the ballot, as I’ve mentioned before I really can’t get out of work next Monday so me and my son can’t enter the ballot.

So you’re all a tiny bit better off, chance wise!

I won’t even be able to watch on tv while at work :-(

I think needing photo ID to get in will knock down those who can apply by a bit.

There won't be many people that have neither a passport nor a driving licence, I'd have thought!!

You'd be surprised. I have to apply for DBS checks for people I work with, and the amount of people who don't have any photo ID is quite incredible. Some have an expired passport, but quite a few don't have either a passport or a drivers licence.

I haven't got a passport and my driving licence is the old green paper type.

Didn't honestly realise that! Thought people had to update to photo licences, you learn something every day! :)

Same for my dad and I wouldn't want to go alone so I won't be entering the ballot.

My Dad had the paper one up until this year when he moved house, his last house move was in the mid 80s and he had it since then. Think it was going to expire when he turned 75 or something.

How's this ballot work fairly then? Presumably your chances should be 50:50 based on the number of tickets available. If you're the lead in a group of 6 by law of averages only 3 should get a ticket but by sounds of it either none or all 6 will get a ticket.
Do they ballot the groups of 6 all together then the fives, fours etc. Just wondered how it worked.

As I understand, the system draws a membership number from the ballot. It then allocates however many tickets based on the number of people in the network. It then draws the next ballot number and repeats, until 4500 tickets have been allocated. A person can only be assigned to 1 network and there is no preference given to the number of people in a network. Under the circumstances this feels about as fair as it could be.
