I have a question regarding parking on Monday. My grandad is coming to the game with me, he has a parking season ticket at oakwell in the ponty car park, he needs this as he struggles to walk far. I explained to him that this car park will more than likely be closed probably to assist in social distancing. However, he still wanted to be there on Monday. Anyway, I’m asking on his behalf, does anyone know if the car park will be open on monday? If not, I will drive him and drop him off near the grounds and park away. I can’t bloody wait! COYR!!!
Surely it'll be open? Think of all the supermarket carparks up and down the land that have been open throughout (and heaving!). Congratulations on getting one by the way!
You make a valid point. Just something I found intriguing as I haven’t seen anything on the website. Thank you, correct me if I’m wrong but with your response I’m presuming you entered the ballot and was unsuccessful? If that’s the case I’m genuinely gutted for you. I really wanted everyone who applied to have got a ticket.
On the confirmation email I received, it says to contact the club if you have any issues with mobility etc. I presume that means for inside the stadium, but I'm sure they'll be able to accommodate you outside too if you ask.
I'm sure it'll be open, probably just a case of everything being a bit manic at the club last couple of days! But yeh worth checking, hope it works out okay for you. I didnt enter the ballot, I think I've missed 2 games all season but I dont have a ST (live in Bristol). I didnt want to get one and an ST holder miss out (not sure if that's even possible but just in case?). I'm just happy for those fans that have successfully got a ticket. Although it won't be the same it's great that people can get back down to Oakwell and cheer on the lads! I'll be nervously watching from my sofa once more.
The club have more to worry about than me messaging them, I genuinely don’t mind if the car park is closed to drop him off on grove street then park elsewhere and meet him inside the ground. I just thought I’d ask if anyone has seen something I’ve missed. However the club do this I’m on board with, they’ll be no complaints from me (this time)
There’s 5 of us going. If the car park is open he will go in his car alone and park there. If not I will drive him and drop him close.
Pretty sure on monday it was mentioned at the fans forum. Maybe Gally recorded. In better detail. One of the questions that I believe the club were/are intending to ask folk. Is how they are getting there. Eg car/public transport/shanks's pony. Forget what the intentions were then. ?.
See my previous post mate. But anyone with mobility issues are asked to contact the club. Re seating so I guess they will also answer that query.
Did you manage to follow up on this? Does anyone else know whether any of the club car parks will be open on Monday? I would have assumed so in the absence of any announcement to the contrary, but it would be great to know for sure.
Would make sense to open it, traffic management but free entry to avoid messing with cash, having more staff involved and easy entry. Also given the defined entry times better for people to wait in the car where possible
