Not when you have to have 2 spare seats between groups - that means one person is takes up in total 15 seats but 6 people take up 30 seats - ie 5 seats per person so if everyone applies singly we can only safely fit around 1/3 of the total if everyone grouped into sixes. It is a problem because of the way the rules are written - not saying its a good way of doing it
Just have a think about what you've written. Do groups of 6 fit conveniently into all rows at Oakwell? All rows being perfect multiples of 8 (group of 6 plus two spare seats). Of course not. Almost every row will have a remainder. Which translates as empty seats. You max out the space available if you have groups of all sizes 1-6 in pretty much the ratio of how people would have naturally booked their tickets. It was terrible advice because no one really thought about it.
Not sure if I`ve got this right or not from what you`re saying - would I have had a better chance of a ticket if I`d been in a group of 6? Sorry if this is stupid question.
Only if everyone’s individual name was in the ballot and not just the initial applicant ,( bearing in mind in other threads I’ve already demonstrated I haven’t a clue what I’m talking about )
No, because they were emboldened by a the support of a deluge of soggy farts who thought that enabling an authoritarian Tory regime was the best thing to "keep us safe".
But if what you are saying is right and only the lead number went into the ballot then other members` numbers could be duplicated in lots of groups as long as they weren`t the lead.
Once your number was entered as a group you couldn’t then apply in another group . My son applied first for our group unbeknown to me , when I went to apply I was blocked from applying I’m assuming if you applied and others in your group had been already been entered in another group it would have told you. I’ve no idea how it worked really , it’s done and I’m sure all those that were successful deserve to be there
No you clearly need a mix to make the best use but if you take a typical block in the East Upper which I think is 28 seats so if you use all singles you can sit someone in seats 2,5,8.. 26 - in total 9 people if you use only 6's then its seats 2-7, 10-15 and 18 to 23 so in total 18 people You cant get another 6 onto the row but could fit another 2 in seats 26 and 27 so the maximum on that block is actually 20 people made up of 4 groups you could also do it with 4 x5 for example It may be different for the Ponty and North stand but suspect its similar - what you need is mostly big groups with a few smaller ones to fill in the gaps. I am hoping the lottery algorithm was clever enough to optimise the seating
I heard that for this game they decided to let all the mingers in as a gesture of commiseration for the fact that they are minging.
Rejection email for me also. At least S.M is going though. Get that matchday thread sorted Helen, but make it only for us Sofa Dwellers.... Everyone successful should have a cracking time, hope it's a brilliant evening!
Are you going Durkar? Hope you manage to enjoy it if you do, as well as it being strange and emotional.
I checked the social distancing restrictions the club had put in place, spoke to the person I work with most closely and found out which hours she is in next week and made arrangements to work in a different area during that time and I would have tested using the rapid flow test daily rather than twice a week.
No one is suggesting all singles, that's not how people go to games, you're the second person to make that analogy and I can't work out why. The odd few who do go alone would have taken up the spare places where only one person could sit.
No unfortunately didn’t get the nod , thanks for asking , when ever we get back in it won’t be the same without the big lad we’ve been going together since I was 7yrs but there’s the next generation to inflict the BFC curse on , new times new memories but he’ll always be with us , knowing him he’s probably got a chuffing ticket
I was only responding to your comment that grouips of 6 was the worst advice ever I dont agree I think trying to form groups of 6 where possible!! is good advice - clearly there will be groups of 1 2 3 4 and 5 as well but if all we had were groups of 1 and 2 the capacity is even more reduced . Of course if we didnt have such large gaps between groups .....
I suspect some singles / doubles will qualify to fill in around the larger groups. I'm sure they've done what they can to maximise the numbers, whilst sticking to the rules.
Oh god, don't start this again. Quite clearly, from posts on here, every single person wasn't applying individually so pretending that they might have been is just daft. Singles didn't cause 'spacing issues' they helped use up seats where there was that amount of space left (same with groups of 2, 3 etc.)
Another ‘unsuccessful’. I didn’t think I’d feel this sick at not getting tickets, and knew it was a lucky dip. But having ploughed north of 800 quid into the club, this season, without seeing a ball kicked, live, I am now feeling a bit gutted.
