I’ve been generally a supporter of lockdowns over the last year as I believed, and still do believe, that they were necessary. However, I will not accept another lockdown and can’t see me complying with it. The vulnerable have had their first jabs and most will have had their second within the next few weeks. Once that second jab is done for the vulnerable we just have to get on with our lives. The virus will continue to mutate, let’s get people their booster jabs where necessary and start living again.
I'm all for freedom of choice. Those who believe in lockdowns should absolutely have the right to lock themselves down. I wouldn't dream of trying to stop you or criticise you for doing so. So can that be reciprocal? Can those of us who don't want lockdowns be allowed to get on with our lives? Surely that will make us all happy. We'll even wave to you through the window as we're going past.
I often hear about how not everyone can have the vaccine which I do understand but does anyone know how many people there actually are who can't have it for medical reasons?
I don't know if it's been a conscious or even subconscious decision but it is very damaging. Sometimes we're horrible without meaning to be, but as the criticism of Trump was so vocal for him calling it The Chinese Virus and as it was only a year ago, it can hardly be claimed the issue isn't in the public consciousness. Naming a disease after a nation/nationality incites negative reactions to those people. There are many people working in the media and government who are all too aware of this.
Exactly, there has to come a time when enough is enough, they are constantly moving the goalposts, we,ve heard time and time again that younger people are extremely unlikely to get seriously ill, now all of a sudden they are in danger, what happens when the next variant appears then the next then the next, we can,t do this forever, the first time new variants were mentioned was in December a week after the first vaccination was given, the question is, where were these variants for the first 10 months of the pandemic, all this constant moving of the goalposts is doing is giving validity to the conspiricy theorists coz something isn,t ringing true....
The variants didn't exist in the first 10 months of Covid, but they exist now. That's why they're called variants
It wasn't too long ago that some parts of our media were taking umbrage at other countries use of the term ' UK variant'.
If this clown Johnson and his side kit Hancock had been on the ball from day one instead of missing cobra meeting's and listening to Trump then we would have started living again months back. And most importantly the death toll would not have been so high.
And the first variant happened to appear 1 week after the 1st vaccination was administered after 10 months of the pandemic, so whats the answer?, do we stay in this situation permanently?, at what stage do we say look we have to learn to live with this thing?...
