So entry has been staggered for entry to the ground over 1and a half hours , what’s going to happen when every body try’s to leave at the end. Surely they can’t use the same timings as before the game to let you out thus making entry times ridicules. Anybody that can’t get to the ground for their allotted time due to late finishing work, will they be allowed in later. Also any delays at the end will affect night workers and young children getting home at a respectable time.
I'm sure the club will try and make some exceptions for people working late etc but if a lot of those with tickets deliberately turn up from 7.45 onwards because they don't want to sit in the ground 1.5 hours before kick off then the club shouldn't let them in. Or if they do then they may get to their seat well into the 1st half. In terms of departing oakwell after the game, could easily see it being 45 mins to get everyone out.
Genuinely not being funny, but why? Why is it necessary to be in the ground 90 minutes before kick off? And why wouldn’t people get to their seat until well into the 1st half, if they arrive 30 minutes before kick off? People manage absolutely fine to work out what time they need to arrive, when there’s 10k. Why is such early arrival needed, when there’s less than half usual attendance? There’s a photo id check, that’s all. 10 seconds extra per person. I’ve no problem with Club suggesting early arrivals. But suggesting people aren’t let in, seems way OTT…and impossible to implement
It's looking more and more like the winners of the lottery were those that didn't get a ticket. What’s the half time entertainment, 20 lashings?
You have to give club credit here as they have been clever in the seat allocation to consider safe exit. 25% of fans in each section have to leave at 9:45 for the 10 O’Clock bus. 25% have cars in car park and need to stay back as it takes so long to leave the car park. 25% need to walk through jumble lane and town and will be out exactly on the final whistle. 24.95% will need a loo break after holding it and meander out 10mins after final whistle 0.05% is S.M. Who didnt go anyway as he thought he had lost his ticket.
Am I missing something here? Coming in everyone has to scan tickets and squeeze through narrow turnstiles no doubt there will be problems with this as it takes ages sometimes for them to scan our season cards. Going out however you can walk straight through 20 foot wide gates can't you?
I'd open the big gates to let people in and have check points set up beforehand. However I think this has all been put together at short notice and the club are just doing the best they can with a bad lot
I'm surprised S.M. hasn't been on here bairning that he's got to turn up at 6.45 pm for the match. Probably, lucky sod's got an 8.00 pm attendance. Some people are just like that
Ah but what about the risk of everyone having to walk through that toxic cloud of covid that has accumulated around the exits during the match. It won’t be there as people are filtered in but will descend around 10pm waiting for its victims. It’s an intelligent entity this virus. It knows what the date is at any given time, and it can tell the time as well. I’m glad I’m not going, I really am. Far too dangerous to leave your house these days. Best just to hibernate for at least ten more years….
If anybody is not happy with any aspect of their ticket - arrival time, seat allocated, ID process etc They can always return their ticket so the club can continue the ballot and reallocate it to someone who has missed out. No takers ? Thought not. BTW it will all start again if we get to Wembley. In the mail today it says only 10000 tickets - that's max 5000 each club.
If that is so it’s a disgrace. For every nine seats you can occupy just one. Total nonsense. As has been said time and again how is it “safe” to watch snooker indoors, tightly packed together, but it’s not “safe” to attend an open air event unless there are huge gaps between groups or individuals. The people making up these stupid rules need to be brought to book when it’s all over.
It's because it's not a pilot event. If it were it would be 21000 like the FA Cup Final. But then spectators would have to be covid tested before & after the game. So the limit has been set at 10000, EFL have asked for more fans for the play offs but the request has be unsuccessful - know how they feel I have had an "unsuccessful email" this week
That seems really unfair.why can't it be a test event? They're letting 12000 travel to Portugal after all.
I don’t know enough about the rules. But is the thing with football related to transmission? Genuinely don’t know, but I’m guessing if people at football are singing, shouting, venting and had some ale, then risk of transmission is theoretically more than someone sat in a chair saying nothing at the snooker for 2 hours. Could say the same about gigs and festivals. Dunno though, it’s just a bit of a guess.
It’s about the concourse capacity, not the seating capacity. And the 4 times (sat in different areas each time) that I’ve been to Wembley, I’ve always been surprised how small the concourses were, let alone the layout (putting bogs straight across from a bar = gridlock). I agree though - I would have thought they’d be more than 10k allowed in.
