It's nice to see Leicester win, but I hate these really marginal calls. That should have been a goal in my opinion - I don't think Chelsea had a massive advantage from their player going a split second early. I still think it would be better if they went with a cricket version, whereby if it's not 100% obvious they stick with the call of the umpire (or referee). By all means rule out terrible decisions, but this is too much for my taste.
Shocking decision by VAR not to chalk off the Leicester goal when Tielemans controlled the ball with his hand.
Agree with this on decisions that have an element of interpretation to them. But offside is offside. Really black and white and doesn't have an element of technology predicting whether a wicket is being hit. So it's the rules that need changing rather than VAR surely? Nothing wrong with VAR as a function - it's the decisions those in the tower sometimes make and the offside rule in general.
Time to change the offside rule & get it back to what it was intended for (stopping goal hanging). A player should only be offside if he is clear of the last defender. If any part of the attacker is level then it should be on side
Offside for me. I know it’s incredibly close but how else do you do it? The celebrations of Chelsea to then flip to Leicester’s was eventful.
