A fight that should’ve been at a packed Wembley taking place in Saudi Arabia. Joshua banging on about BLM all year yet fights in a country with a record of human rights like Saudi Arabia. Think the only colour that matters is green!!
1 don't think he has banged on about blm all year he did one speech which got cut to suit the agenda of people like you. 2 fury said he will never fight in the u.k again a few months ago.
Cash is king in sport, especially boxing where you literally put your health on the line. Not saying it's right, by the way. But happy that it's finally happening, on my birthday weekend too. Also the opening day of the Premier League season.
Funny you pick that out of it... Surely with Fury and his thoughts on homosexuality he was pushing for it to be in a country with similar views to him?
Banging on about BLM? He said one thing which was edited to suit someone’s agenda! If I was going to have a career defining fight against the other outstanding heavyweight of current times - something that applies to both - a fight which as much as career defining may be career ending, I’d have the fight on Mars if it paid more. I don’t blame them for chasing the money. They could be seriously hurt or be killed in the ring. I suspect if Fury hadn’t said he’d never fight in the U.K. again it would be at Wembley. But he has. So it was either oil money in Saudi, or other dodgy money in Vegas; I don’t see as it makes much difference. The usa is no land of the free.
Both men have very chequered pasts, but they are boxers not paragons of virtue. They are currently the two best heavyweights in which ever order you want to rank them, I'll be glad when they finally get it on.
Yes funny how you focus on one thing he said which got edited to suit a agenda. I'm looking forward to the fight id like it to be in England but after furys interview where he stated he wouldn't fight in the UK again I knew it wasn't going to be. Saudi is better for as I don't have to set me alarm for 4/5 am.
What I find more interesting than the BLM angle, is Tyson Fury's constant Christian bible-bashing. I wonder if he thinks 'turn the other cheek' means 'look away and pretend it's not happening'?
Weird how the OP chose to just highlight Joshua, and not Fury who has himself spoken out in favour of BLM and also to highlight discrimination against travellers. I wonder why...
I love Fury, and Joshua. The former I like more though. But both men have said and done some awful stuff. Fury and his bizarre rants against Jews, homosexuals etc. Joshua's 'superior black race' remarks. Fury's 'wild boar' excuse for a failed drug test. Joshua dealing drugs. But both men have said and done good stuff too, that have undoubtedly inspired people. And they're both the two best heavyweight boxers of their time, both boxing as British, although Fury is a traveller of Irish descent and AJ of Nigerian heritage. They're fighters, gladiators, entertainers even. And like many before them (Ali, Tyson, Mayweather, LaMotta etc) they're not perfect human beings. I don't like them for their world-views, I like them for what they do in the ring.
Always liked Fury ( as a boxer) I think he'll knock Joshua into next week, they are fighting imo in a era of poor heavyweights ( yes you can only fight whats in front of you) rewind 30 years and imo they would be no where near
I wasn't trying to say one is better or worse than the other, just to say that it is equally valid to give Fury some hammer for fighting in Saudi Arabia, and the decision by the OP just to focus on Joshua raises questions as to the motivation behind the post.
Would love a Fury win. He’s the best heavyweight in years and has inspired millions of a jilted generation.
Sorry mate, I wasn't responding in disagreement. It was more of an agreement with you and then I ended up on a rant.
