To be honest, will always be my team, my passion so whoever wears the shirt gets my support. Good luck to those who go...Hourihane doesn’t look as happy these days as he did at Barnsley, their choice.

 

I agree, can't see anyone spending big on Helik, Styles will probably stay at least another season.

 

Way to kick us all when we’re down. There’s a decision to make for the club. Are they going to try and improve the team, or just look for another batch of assets to sell on in the future?

 

That's my worry. I'm gutted right now, but I think I'll be even more gutted if this team gets dismantled

 

More chance of being dismantled than coming back stronger for the experience of this season.

 

Give Dane and the Board some credit for getting us this far in such a short space of time. They said they had learned from their mistakes and here we are. Give them time and space to get ready for next season.

This isn’t a purely emotional response. I honestly think we had to go up to keep them.

If Helik has a poor euros he might stay, but Styles has numerous suitors and we won’t hold on to all of those under contract. Those are the two most likely. I only hope they have at least the resolve to wait for a bid that’s more than derisory.

We’ll do well to keep Val. I’d hope we can retain Brittain and Mads.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t.

And as for the post about where we finished - what’s that got to do with anything? If a team in the championship offers a price the board accept and wages we won’t get close to matching then that’s it. We might have finished 5th, but we had the 22nd or 23rd biggest budget, and will probably be in the bottom three or four again looking at who’s coming up and down.

And the OP wasn’t a whinge either. The club needs to turnover players to stay afloat. I won’t be alone in expecting to see some of that this summer.

If we retain all those mentioned, Dike aside who was never ours, then I will accept my error in judgement. But Mowatt will sign for another championship side on more money than we will offer, and money will be offered for some other players (the most likely in my eyes named), and the club will have to take the money.

It was ever thus. I don’t blame the club nor the players.

There’ll be new heroes to support next season. Players come and go, the club continues. I’ll be there. If we’re allowed.

We'll only sell at the right price, only Mowatt and Dike not coming back. But if we sell a top player we might still sign Dike.
Remember our 2nd shopping list may include more Americans and South Americans. We've got a great scouting system, so let's see what happens.
