..we weren't good enough. Not for the lack of trying. Probably in part due to the non - level playing field that footballing finances produces. If our owners can chuck a few more dollars in the ring, who knows, if Val stays? Val's modus operandi would certainly benefit from cherry picked players in certain positions. It might be a hard watch, but I'm coming round to it.
We haven’t played for nearly long enough over the 2 ties, but when their goal comes about by a decision like that, then it’s a bitter pill to swallow irrespective of how we’ve played
The ref at Oakwell was very good Tonight's was whistle happy (watch someone tell me it was the same bloke..)
Hey, come on guys...whatever! These players and management team have achieved heights close to miraculous this season. Yes, they've fallen at the penultimate hurdlle and it's 3rd v 4th finish in the final. Perhaps, for fairness, that's how it should be, but these boys have done themselves and the town proud and they have my utmost admiration and respect. Well done BFC, who would want to support any other club!
This is the way Swansea play they don't score 5 goals overrun teams they get one goal or sometimes two and mange the games they did that superbly both games whatever you think of there tactics. Barnsley have been just as guilty this season of time wasting ,professional fouls , fouling off the ball , diving for penalty's etc shithousery whatever you want to call it as any other team. there were instances decisions by the ref that should have gone Swanseas way as vice versa over both games did there goalie make one save how many shots did we have on target. for the vast majority of the match is was childs play for Swansea we never looked like scoring when we scored it came out of the blue and i presume a shock to most people that we got one. anybody who thought we should have gone through or deserved to win is not living on planet earth
They’ve had our number every time we’ve played them this season. We didn’t really threaten them other than the goal. Which doesn’t take anything away from what’s been an absolutely amazing season where we’ve punched massively above our weight due to how the manager’s set us up and the players playing absolutely out of their skins. Gutted we’ve not been able to actually go to games, I don’t think there’s been another season in my lifetime where we’ve been this good away from home - being in the away end this season would have been pretty special. It’ll be interesting to see what we do over the summer but I’m quietly optimistic. Disappointing finish overall but 9/10 for the season, would do it again.
