No it's not. We bared our balls in both legs. And let 2 bits of class curling finishes (both of which were preventable) beat us. End of. Otherwise we frightened Swansea off the park.
Of course it is. I couldn’t be prouder but we were flat for the majority of the 2 games. Swansea weren’t that much better but they were better.
Well it demonstrably is - Marc and me for two. We're immensely proud of the club and the team, but were both disappointed with tonight's performance. Unlike you, we can accept that other opinions are, to the holders, equally viable. *EDIT* Jimmy Viz as well. Evidence is stacking up!
I thought we gave it a good go and I wouldn’t be too critical. Absolute brain fart of a team selection though. Second worst selection in Barnsley FC play off history since Bassett picked Keith Brown at centre back in 2000.
This. Definitely could see the nerves come into play but they're young lads, they've not been in this position before.im prepared to cut them some slack despite my disappointment as I desperately wanted to take my son to Wembley.
Yes there is that. His manager actually wanted Swansea to win because they need him next week so if we're blaming anyone........!!
Now now... We're all entitled to our own opinions. I thought that we left it all out there, and that was as much as we could do - both games, if we'd had the rub of the green, we'd be at Wembley. I have no thought that we could have done any better.
Not questioning the graft, but for 70 minutes we caused them no problems whatsoever. We had a good 20 minutes. We also didn’t win. Of course we could have done better.
Playing Victor definitely backfired. To be fair to Big Val he didn't mess about and withdrew him at half time. Assuming Dike doesn't return, we need two strikers in the close season as a priority. One who is fast like Chaplin but better than Chaplin at football, and a copy of Daryl Dike who won't cost as much as Daryl Dike. For a combined fee of £3 million maximum. Sounds pretty simple.
Starting Victor was a terrible call. Whether it would have made a difference who knows. But I just don’t think he’s in our strongest xi, and to start him in a game we have to win, just made no sense. Also don’t understand why Chaplin didn’t get some time. But hey.
I was a bit baffled by the team selection and it did backfire but love Val to bits and hope he learns from this for our promotion push next year, rather than helping Palace to a top ten finish...
