I think this guy deserves a new deal. I'd like to see him stay at the club a bit longer as he's been great with younger players. I think he's been the catalyst for the upward trajectory.

Agree, especially if Helik is sold. We might even end up with a coach that prefers a back four, which I think would suit him better than a back three.

Only downside is if he is a top earner amongst the defenders, but only going to play a bit part. Would need a view from the coach on how much that experience is worth off the pitch.

The squad needs experienced players like him, I wouldn't be against adding a couple more next season to be honest.

I'd still want him alongside Halme, Sibbick or Andersen if we played a four or a three with fans back in the stadiums.

We will lose the most experienced championship player we have at the club if he doesn't sign a new deal unfortunately.

Should have played the second leg. If he's not going to be on the pitch playing then for what he's probably on it's best to move him on.

not sure him being on would have made much difference in all honesty.

As I can see we've 7 possible centre halves (Sibbick, Sollbauer, Andersen, Helik, Kitching, Halme, Moon). Even in a 3, that seems too many. if someone else comes in and we adopted a 4, that's far far too many so I suspect we're going to lose a couple this summer. My best guesses are that the 3 most likely to be sold on are Helik and/or Andersen and Sollbauer. Though I'm not Sollbauers biggest fan, I don't think it would be wise to lose him and those other two in the same window.

I’d like him to stay but I’d imagine he’ll be leaving. You’ve got to presume he’s one of our biggest earners & he’s mainly a benchwarmer now plus his fellow Austrians Schmidt & Ritzmaier seem surplus to requirements & the manager who brought him here has left. It probably makes most sense to move him on unless he’s going to be a regular starter.

We lacked experience on the field to deal with the shithousery Swansea were doing with time wasting, chuntering to the ref etc.

I really like & rate Sollbauer. If I could get what I personally want, the likes of Sollbauer, Helik, Andersen, Brittain, Styles, Mowatt, Woodrow and Valerien Ismael still to be at the club when the Summer transfer window closes on 31st August.
    Sadly, I don't think I'll get what I want.

Jordan Williams can and has played very well in a back 3

Make that 8! Though that was before Ismaels time wasn't it?

It was, but that doesn't mean he is discounted, does it?

I did say 8 ;-) But Ismael seemed to prefer him either on the ball in the middle or moreso at wing back and instead have 3 tall centre halves. I do quite like Williams as a player and I'd like to see more of him next season though. But carrying 7 or 8 centre halves seems too many to me.

I think if we switch to a 4, Kitching would be left back and Moon and / or Sibbick would probably move into midfield, especially if it's a midfield 3 or 5.

I'm resigned to Helik going, but hopeful that Andersen will be kept given the time left on his contract, including the club's option on it. A back 4 of Kitching, Andersen, Sollbauer and Williams, with Sibbick and Moon offering a bit of versatility in backup wouldn't be the end of the world.

If Halme gets a game in the Euros, he could catch the eye of one or two championship scouts.

If you're asking me which of the central defenders deserve a new deal then I would say Mads. I like Sollbauer a lot but we've got a lot of quality in that position as it's probably our strongest area of the team. I don't want any of them to go but I would understand - as mentioned above - if one of Sollbauer, Mads or Helic were sold this window. Anymore than one would be a little silly (and risky) considering our recent history of letting central defenders leave.

I like Sollbauer a lot. He offers us something different to our other centre backs like experience, leadership and he’s very vocal. However, our 2 best defenders are Andersen and Helik and we have Sibbick who has come on leaps and bounds since January. Then Kitching who we paid a bit for, Halme who has just been picked for his country and Moon as a promising youngster. I think he’ll be off but he definitely helped turn our season around last season so I’ll always remember him very fondly, whenever he does indeed leave.

He's not cut out for the big lump it game; calm & classy on the ball, happy to bring it out, always looking for a red shirt. I love it when he plays.
