Aren't the head coach, the squad and the whole club predicated on playing the way we do? If so, not likely to change?

I think a defender that knows what they're about to do with it subconsciously has more time on the ball. It's better making a proper clearance than a panicked one. Andersen, Helik and Sibbick know they're getting rid which means a lot more of their clearances are going to red shirts. What narks me are the hoofs into space when we're in advanced positions when there's no pressure on us to the detriment of the forwards.

for me it will depend on the results. many people have said the style of football this season hasn't always been great to watch (me included), but the results have justified it. if/as/when the results dry up, fan response will start to change. I'm certain of it. microcosm of that you can look at derby, Wednesday, Preston, coventry etc. dreadful games to watch. last season has gone now. it's what comes next that people will respond to. quite possible it won't be with Val either, so who knows what our style and squad will be come August.

Anderson, Helik & Sol pass success rate is just under 50% which is apparently some of the lowest in the league

The booing of Anderson before COVID was embarrassing especially the ones near where I sit .
You could tell he was under orders to play it out and the fear on his face was evident which probably made him more nervous and then the booing .
It’s telling of the people who sit around me that those i consider to have more knowledge overhearing them on tactics etc never booed the players whilst they played which I’ve never done also .
Bit the ones i considered less knowledgable again listening over many years were the ones booing and heckling .
Just a considered opinion of the folk that sits near me don’t know if that would be generally of the fanbase .

Some fans don't like Valerien Ismael's style of football. Then again, some of the same people didn't like Daniel Stendel's style, either. Unsurprisingly, they didn't like Paul Heckingbottom's. For example, after our brilliant 3-0 victory over Walsall in the Play Offs, all they could do was claim Josh Scowen's performance as a stand in full back left a lot to be desired. :D:D

That is true. The owners want the minimum disruption when the coach changes. They do not want the situation when the new coach arrives that he thinks none of the players can play his style, and he insists on acquiring a new team of players who can. Nevertheless, our last 3 coaches have played a press, and none of them have played the press in the same way. I enjoyed the way that the press worked under Struber. Others cannot find a bad word to describe either Stendel, or his system of play. I do think that there is room within their policy for other ways of playing.

I'll never boo the team. ever. i'll continue to back em financially, year in year out. I'll also continue to question bad decisions, on and off the pitch. that's part of being a fan for me. I personally do care how we play. A lot. I don't like this idea that a fan should just support everything the Club do, and that the Club 'know better'. I'm not just a fee-paying sheep. I don't believe that results are absolutely everything either. I just don't. my personal ambitions for next season are top-half. I think that's reasonable. top-6 would be another over-achievement for me.

I often laugh at commentators, so they can laugh all they like. Plus we finished 5th.

In fairness the figures I quoted were under Val and it was I assumed as a result of them being told to get the ball forward as quick as possible, which I’m assuming meant territory over possession.
I only mentioned is as Stephen said about going to a red shirt more.
I agree with you the players are only playing as they have been told to and booing and jeering players only serves to put them under more pressure and IMO does nothing to support the team or the players during the match.

If we are winning with any sort of regularity no one will care.

Don’t get me wrong stats are there to be abused and don’t tell a whole story.
A player passing the ball 10 yards to his mate and back will have a higher success rate than someone kicking a ball 60 yards that can be challenged easier by the opposition.
Them stats don’t make them bad players as our league position and results show

Maybe we were winning more second balls further up the pitch.
