    Really? We're not allowed a view on gun control because of something that happened nearly 250 years ago?

    If anything that just highlights the fact that the gun laws are based on a historic context which is no longer relevant. It's not as if the Queen is going to send the redcoats over just as soon as Chuck and Hank hand over their AR-15s is it?

    Had a zoom meeting on Monday with friends in East Tennessee. They were telling me there had been five gun killings in a fortnight in Knoxville. Having been there twice It is quite laid back quite friendly place. But there is loads of anecdotal stuff of similar incidents. Apparently gun sales have gone up during the pandemic. At the beginning there was even panic buying of guns.

    I have no idea what point you are trying to make there, I wasn't supporting the queen was I? In fact if you go back through my posting history you'll see that I view the monarchy as an anachronism that should be removed. Still, nice try.

    I saw something yesterday (I haven't confirmed it, to be clear) that gun sales in the US went up by 40% in 2020 and gun deaths went up by 30%.

    Sure it's just a coincidence though.

    Implosion, the word Americans need to get used to hearing. A country so ill at ease with itself and quite frankly if that country were a person it would be placed in a padded cell for everyone's protection.

    Because, and I'm sure some will argue against this, as much as they claim otherwise a lot of people care more about their "god given" right to own a gun than the thousands of lives lost every year.
