Agreed. Best album? Blonde on Blonde just for me. Also love Freewheelin’, Times they are a Changin’ and Another Side Of.
Google the lyrics of “Positively 4th Street” and think of how many people in your life to which they relate.
My son took me to Liverpool to see him live 3 years ago as a xmas present , brilliant concert , I have loved Dylan & grew up with the sixties music but it was the first time I had ever seen him live & although I would have loved him to do all is old stuff which he didn"t, I still enjoyed every minute .
Am still trying to listen to each new album. My first was Street Legal. And first love never ever dies. Desire is probably best for me though.
Blood on the tracks was my personal favourite. Lost a lot of respect when he started doing Victoria secret and pepsi ads...
On a tangent, but the Watchmen tv series (which was really good) was credited with helping to bring the Tulsa Massacre to public attention in America (and worldwide). This was one of the biggest acts of mass-murder in the history of the States where a gang of whites killed over 200 blacks after a 21-year old black man was accused of assault or rape on a young white girl. Over 35 city blocks were burnt to the ground - with bombs dropped from planes - making Tulsa the first (and until 9/11 only) mainland USA city to have been attacked by air. The case was dropped - the man had tripped and grabbed the girl to stop him falling over. The centenary of this event is this week (31st May) - and until recently wasn't really known about even in Tulsa.
Appalling, I'd never heard of that either, amazing how certain, murkier parts of recent history never seem to be taught.
Went to see him at St James Park, Newcastle, with Santana and Lindisfarne. Dylan crap. Santana crap, Lindisfarne fantastic, not what I expected as I am a big Dylan fan
