we have no chance of getting him. https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/2...G9_sB_NVUbTFx5_bJGVsPc4-lHIJy_S2qijqiasvSnTuQ
I’d be surprised if they weren’t. He had a good first season in England and seemed to be settled. He is obviously going to attract attention........unfortunately.
Agreed. It would have been nice to get him, but he has suitors with a bigger purse than ours I'm afraid.
I suppose it all depends on whether he wants to play first team football on a regular basis. He has masses of potential and still has a lot to learn, but sadly, wages may well be the deciding factor: that said though he does seem to have a very mature head on his young shoulders.
He’s miles off starting games frequently in the Premier League. But then these teams are happy to throw millions at players to sit in their reserves for a couple of years on the off chance they become the real deal - which Dike could. I think his suitors will have watched his time at ok and realised the potential is real, but that he’s raw beyond belief. Wherever he ends up he needs to be playing football regularly. Hopefully that’s with us, but sadly I think it’s unlikely due to wages. Season long loan could be in the offing…..
I think that's the only way we're likely to see him back. Reckon Leeds could be the sort of club to take a punt. If so and they want to loan him out, coming back to us would make perfect sense. Probably a bit of a long shot though.
You cannot live in a 'risk free' environment. We have first dibs at £14.5m. Everton were talking £21. We could include a 30% sell on clause and everyone would be happy.
I think I'd happily live in a "risk free environment" if it meant forking out that kind of money on a hail Mary that we might be able to sell him for more a few months down the line. £14.5m is more than we've spent on transfers in total over the last 3 or 4 years!
where’s £14.5m. Come from? Our CEO has said more than once the agreement agreed is in line with our recent signing fees?
Good at Championship level but nowhere near Premier League regular starter yet. Most likely get signed by someone like Chelsea who will loan him out for three years and then sell him for four times what they paid.
Assuming the £14.5 million is correct what wages do we think Dike can command. Slightly more than we would want to pay I am sure
