My recollection is that Saxon played the Montgomery Hall, although I wouldn't absolutely swear that it wasn't in their former incarnation as Son of a Bitch. Whatever, I recall it as a good night, if viewed through some booze-fuelled recollections! :)

The Hours were on the undercard at the U2 Don Valley gig, along with Elbow. Quite a night!

    In no particular order

Def Leppard - in the round at Sheffield arena, 1993
Pink Floyd - Earls Court 1994
    Oasis - Maine Road 1996
Lastly i got dragged along to a concert by an ex by Little Angels at the Royal Albert Hall 1994. Had never heard of them, only agreed to go because of the day sesh in London pre gig. Turned out to be a fantastic concert and was looking forward to seeing them again.
Turned out it was their farewell gig

Coldplay @ Etihad Stadium on their Head full of dreams tour, simply brilliant! I felt like part of the show singing along to anthem after anthem, the atmosphere leaving the stadium after was electric.

More recently i saw The 1975 @ Sheffield arena, loved it!

Notable mentions include Foo Fighters @ Sheffield arena, along with Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Fleetwood Mac were decent @ MEN 2013, minus Christine Mcvie, a bit long winded though & Stevie Nicks rattled on too much.

Been to plenty more intimate gigs at smaller venues, seen Dream Theater twice, they were decent both times.

I’m so jealous of you having seen Pink Floyd. I have the DVD of that Earls Court gig.
I also saw Little Angels at Celtic Park in 91.
They were support for Squeeze, Extreme and Bryan Adams.
    A good band.

There’s been some majorly memorable CUSM gigs I’ve been at over the time (over 50 at the last count) small hot sweaty clubs on the way up in London, Sheffield, Southampton and Portsmouth. massive festival headline shows at Glastonbury and across Europe, the small cold clubs on the way back down as Britpop ruined everything.. it all ended rather sadly around 1998.... until Brixton Academy November 2007.

It’s how it always was... nah it’s better, the lights blinding, the twin guitar assault, The lyrics tearing apart thatchers broken Britain, 5000 people alive and together as one

The Frank and Walters and Sultans of Ping were on as support. it should have ended like this, it’s how it was meant to be.

    YOU FAT BÃSTARD.

Wizard. My first ever live gig Bill . 15 at the time I think. guess you was too . At civic. Announcer Told us they wouldn't allow em to get up on stage till we all sat down. ( or it was said by the band themselves. My memory playing tricks. Be shocked if it turned out it was the latter lol)

Indoor: Faith No More & L7 at Sheffield arena in '92

Outdoor: probably Bowie at the wembley net aid concert in '99, I think he was only on for about 30 mins but I was completely blown away.

TBH Ian to say it was an 'experience' is an understatement. A group of lads all in our early 20s and prone to dabble in the occasional spliff and erm other things :D although the entire gig seemed to be set up for those exact things...or so it seemed.
    The music was alreight anarl

My favourite band, are Green Day, seen several times. But the best was when they did Leeds/Reading and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, all of which coincided with my holiday.
But, all was not lost as they played a little known festival, a couple of weeks later, called Main Square in Arras, France.
€110 for 4 days music, including camping. Plus it turns out the French generally aren’t big Green Day fans so I literally got straight to the front standing just feet away from Billy Joe Armstrong playing live. Top notch.

Saw Rush a couple of times, brilliant. Would have loved to have seen them in their home town.

Springsteen at Roundhay Park, 1985 probably best for iconic-ness.

At the Arena it was summat else.
Re U2. seen em 4 times. The best at Bell end rd. With Pretenders the support. Quality both on em.

I would have been 16 at the time so I was probably dabbling with my Worther’s Originals.

I know all about poor vantage point.
Raised my kids as cool kids and Green Day fans, so every time they have come to England, I can’t buy just a ticket, but 3 or 4, so the ‘cheap seats’ are my usual view anyway.

Oasis Knebworth on the Saturday, support Prodigy, Ocean Colour Scene and Chemical Brothers. Felt amazing at the time.
Stone Roses Sheffield Arena, just before they split up
Beautiful South, so many times and always great.
Bannanarma - a couple of years ago intimate gig in Glasgow, loved it
Texas - Peasholm park, beautiful summer evening, a few beers, fish and chips and great music.
