This isn’t a class or income issue. One of our holidays is less than £500pp And tens of thousands of my colleagues working from home earn less than the average salary. As indeed I did for most of the time I was struggling to bring up my kids. so sorry but you’re not getting away with playing that crap. And semantics? Course there are millions who can’t go. Even without restrictions there were millions who couldn’t travel abroad. I was one of them most of my adult life.
Stop reading the scare stories. Carriers and insurers have to stick with foreign office guidelines. So if the government don’t stop you going somewhere they can’t claim it’s too risky.
I mentioned three different sections of people who benefited again, not every retired person is rich nor is every work from home person.
Most insurers will typically refuse to cover anyone travelling to a destination the FCDO advises against visiting. And its current recommendation is that you should avoid most amber-list countries to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Don't shoot the messenger im only telling you what the spirits are telling me.
And that’s true whether there’s restrictions on travel or not. So those people are still the same % of the number of likely travellers.
Are you saying that you think the current UK laws don't prevent any more people from holidaying than usual?
And as I posted, the government can’t expect to enforce mixed messages. If they tell me I can’t go somewhere I can’t get a flight or insurance. If they don’t tell me I can’t, they can’t expect me to follow them asking me not to. I nearly ignored the question about whether I was planning to travel because I knew I’d end up dragged down some pointless rabbit hole. This place has become toxic re Covid.
No And I’m sorry that you fail to understand basic principles. I went months without commenting in Covid threads, it was the right thing to do.
So 2 pages ago I gave an approximate % of the U.K. population who would potentially not be inconvenienced by self isolating. And later you post. But it’s me with the attitude problem? Right OK
Yes it is. You are a condescending arrogant pompous pillock. And pillock is the nicest word I could think of. Don't like that? Tough.
Insurance companies are a law to themselves and if the FCDO are advising against travel I imagine it will be extortionate quotes or won't get insured at all.
You can’t mate. You’re just wrong on this one I’m afraid. You can’t stand up in a pub other than for the practical purposes of walking to your table or to the bog - and they have to be done with a mask on. It’s not one that affects me any like, but you’re just wrong here.
I was at a festival last Saturday there was both singing dancing and dare I say a bit of snogging and hugging.
You can’t mate. As I said to @BarnsleyReds its not a big one for me but here’s the guidance I’ve just wasted two minutes of my life finding to settle the issue as it’s rather tiresome folk denying the reality of the situation.
