Had this sent to me in a groupchat Not sure what this means for Russia vs. Belgium EDIT: Goal Finland noooooo I'm rooting for Denmark so hard now
This is one of the most one-sided games that I've ever seen, yet Finland are somehow winning. I'm not complaining though! The ref isn't giving anything to the Finns either so I'm amazed if the Danes somehow don't win this. Getting strong Liverpool v Barnsley FA Cup vibes here!
Still totally exhausted after the Finland match. That's quite an unforgettable Euro debut for sure, in both good and bad. The positive news about Eriksen after a long wait was such a huge relief, but it still felt unreal when the match kicked off again. The end result may have been undeserved, but to be fair, Finland defended well and Denmark only ever created some decent half-chances, unless you count that undeserved penalty. "Rollercoaster of emotions" is such a cliche of a phrase, but it has never felt so appropriate before today. The horrible Eriksen incident has ruined some of the joy in the victory, but still, I'm so proud of the team. What a day.
Not wanting to join in the BBC bashing but I don’t understand the need to cancel the highlights program tonigh Maybe had things tuned out worse it would have made sense but in the current better circumstances it seems a bit strange.
Harrowing incident aside, I'm well chuffed for you Tomi. I hope you are able to enjoy what is a historic day for your country's football team!
No idea. He was offside when they tried to make the pass to him so I don't see how the deflection mattered.
Nah it's a terrible change. A defender has to guess whether or not a player is offside. If a ball comes in they have to guess whether it was off or not before trying to defend. If they try to clear it and it goes in and it turns out he was a millimetre offside then it's a goal and they should have identified that millimetre and left it
We benefitted from it in a game this season (I don't remember which, maybe Luton away), where Cauley Woodrow was coming back from a offside position. He was a good 5 yards offside. However the defender playing him on tried to rush a clearance and the ball fell to Woodrow, who now wasn't deemed to be offside. I'm not a fan of it as the player has to judge whether the attacker is on or offside before he plays the ball. Wednesday conceded a goal against Watford when Che Dunkley (I think) sliced a clearance inside the box and allowed a Watford player, who had been in an offside position, to tap the ball home.
