No I don’t think you like Tommy Robinson at all that wasn’t aimed at you and I didn’t quote him first , the other poster was using him as an example hence my reply .
Regards Antifa , it wasn’t a movement , lots of people under different banners with different agenda came together to demonstrate against certain fascist organisations that were boldly displaying their racist and fascist agendas under the protection and coercion of the Trump administration .
By enlarge I’m Antifa because I’m Anti Fascist and I think I’m right in implying that you are also Anti fascist .
The term was meant to insult ,suppress any movement against the Trump ideology and banded anyone of being in this movement including BLM etc .
Now the images of the banner with people burning flags with Antifa on a flag was used to discredit the notion of Antifa which in itself fascism is not a bad thing to be against .
But Trump and his aides only wanted to label any protest of his govt as a destructive force to be crushed and labelled and he invented the notion of Antifa bad .
As you know there are more peaceful people out there that’s Antifa .
There are people on all sides that will be out for violence but Trump and his apologists who are active today wanted to punish anyone who protested , remember the car driving into an Anti fascist rally and he wouldn’t condemn them .

Can't stand this government. But equally can't stand the opposition, either. I'm politically homeless because I won't subscribe to an ideology. I really think ideology will destroy us. I just have values which are centred around being fair minded. But it seems if you don't suppose this new wave of revisionism then you're not worthy of a place in society and you're basically Hitler.
I hate the far right. I hate the far left. I refuse to align with either. But if I say I'm anti far left, that makes me automatically far right or a sympathiser. It's absurd.
I disagree with many on here but I'm sure they're fair minded decent people who I'd love to have a drink with. I don't believe in discarding a whole person because they hold some different views to me.

It's like the whole COVID thing. The masses are being shafted by the powerful and wealthy. If I speak out about it, I'm a tinfoil hatter! Because some ideology dictates we have to pro lockdown, pro vaccine (had mine) and pro big pharma. It's nuts.

Anyway, I'm done. Consider me cancelled.

While we may start off with the best of intentions, we all have unconscious bias towards groups of people. You might trust men more than women, or Indians more than Chinese. That is natural and we all have it - especially the older of us who grew up in a predominantly white town - the only non-white people I met from the age of 9-16 (moving to Barnsley to starting Sixth Form) were the doctor and the owner of the Chinese takeaway - and that was 2-3 times each. My peers were 99% Barnsley-born kids of Barnsley-born parents and grandparents.

I know I have these biases, I understand what they are. I am unconsciously biased towards white men and university graduates over school-leavers, so when I interview and recruit people I have to make the conscious effort to ignore that bias. Not everyone is self-aware enough to know that they hold those bias, which makes it harder for women, immigrant and BAME colleagues and candidates to get a job, or to progress within a company. To me being woke is working to raise awareness of the issues of both *overt* and *covert* racism, sexism and other isms that negatively affect people. I sometimes get it wrong (we all do), but if we make the effort we can make it fairer for everybody - which scares a lot of the people who have spent their entire life in a position of advantage.

Do your research man. ACAB (All Cops Are Bad) and Defund the Police is a HUGE part of their agenda, probably the biggest, and has resulted in several police officers being shot. The fact leftists (including UK leftists it seems) will associate you with Trump and defend this is bizarre. There's also the lovely "the only good cop is dead cop" slogan. The fact that you dismiss the lives of dead cops and ruined businesses as "just some kids" or whatever is disgusting. One guy even got mad at me for calling them an organisation. I am 100 anti-fascist in principle but ANTIFA do not represent me and if you support them, you support killing cops, sorry.

Well, absolutely. I agree. And life is a learning curve. Still, I don't agree with collective guilt for individual crimes.

I want to wade into this with a dream I had the other night. It’s in my younger days when clubs were affiliated. A black man applied for membership and was turned down by the committee. I was a member of the club and I was incensed because of the injustice. I saw a committee man wearing a nice jacket with the price tag still on it (nice metaphor). He told me that the membership wouldn’t stand for it. The black man needed acceptance from his working community and was locked out.
The committee could do what it wanted and there was no redress.
Call it woke, call it what you like, but there has to be fairness in society. The scenario I have given you was real when I was growing up and I’m glad that it isn’t today. Put me down as woke!

I was at Orgreave . As were many more in shorts and T Shirts where I was stood at least they had been no violence or Rock throwing but the police charged anyway and many of my colleagues around me that day were arrested and or very violently assaulted some horrendously by police on horseback and full riot gear .
On the news that night the media justified it by rock throwing these rocks were being thrown from an unknown group of men that were distant from the pickets but the media sought to ignore . Not the journalists on the ground but the editors in the offices wanting to paint a certain narrative.
They’ll be no enquiry into Orgreave. because of what the findings will uncover such as the Hillsborough disaster or the PI in the news presently of 35 years cover ups .
Long winded post to say take what you get off the media with a pinch of salt and ad far as lynching goes I know you havnt lunched anyone neither had anyone on here but the longer it’s ignored that it happens or us excused buried in the media then those that look the other way are guilty .
Thousands are being killed by right wing govts etc but everyone concentrates and blames left wing agitators some of which are planted to discredit .

I think the majority on here have the same unconscious bias and thus are overcompensating by attacking me who dares question anything leftist.

In America even liberals will condemn ANTIFA and woke culture, I gave some examples of comedians who to my knowledge are all left/liberal.. But that's too far for you guys.

You'll have to forgive me, but I tend not to "research" the lunatic fringes. And sadly, given you've evaded every reasoned question put to you and used it first to make massive assumptions and then sweepingly volley some of the most random assertions at absolutely everyone, is just bizarre beyond words.

Of course I realise by saying this I'll be called some combination of random abusively intended descriptors, but seeing as you believe in free speech, I'm sure you don't mind me expressing my right to free speech too.

Marlon, I don't have that view at all. Maybe my post wasn't clear, but I was saying that there's a small percentage of antifa people that commit acts that are wrong - attacking people etc - and that these acts shouldn't be used to represent people who stand for the stated aims of Antifa (or even the left). It's Trump's lot who have tried to tie those actions with "the left".

Meanwhile in our country, can you confirm if ANTIFA are classed as a credible extremist or terrorist threat?

How many members do they have? Where do they get their funding? Is it foreign funded and linked to classified dangerous ideology?
How many members are currently doing time due to their membership of the organisation?

The antifa movement shouldn't represent the left but they should represent the antifa movement. They hate America, want to kill police officers and sometimes perform satanist/witchcraft rituals.

The Metropolitan Police - the largest police force in the UK - has been found to be both institutionally racist and institutionally corrupt. They also had a recruit that was recently convicted of being a member of a banned far right organization. Nobody in the UK is calling for it to be defunded and saying all police are bad, but plenty would like those involved in this corruption and racism to be investigated, charged and if found guilty convicted or removed from their roles.

In America it is different, the police are relatively poorly trained and quick to react to situations and they have several levels from the County Sheriff, city police and State Troopers up to the FBI. Some of the police working in these different departments are racists. Some of these departments are institutionally racist. Probably the best solution is for them to be reorganized and combined with the bad apples thrown out.

I generally find I don't have to proclaim I'm anti racist by, you know, being nice to people and not judging them on their appearance or where they're from. Radical - I know.

I think you're spot on with this. Its powerful groups trying to conflate things in order to stir hate and target groups that otherwise would be difficult to tarnish.

Yet it doesn't occur on the right. Instead they are freedom fighters. Just fighting for good old fashioned values, the flag, the queen and the right to have a voice.

It's bizarre.

Wow totally irrelevant information but thanks. I support cop reform especially in the US, I went to a protest myself and it was mostly peaceful although seeing white people yell at a black female cop was weird and unfortunately some Antifa members decided to deface some statues and smash some stuff.
But what you said is totally irrelevant to the fact that they say ACAB and wish death upon police officers and in some cases actually inflict death upon police officers. If you support the antifa movement you support killing cops.
