Scotland just have that togetherness and chemistry that England teams always seem to lack when the pressure is on. And I think pressure is ultimately the reason. I enjoyed that Scotland performance, not so much the England performance. I hope both go through.
Thank you all for the congratulations. Much appreciated. I like the banter with all you guys. You are a top lot.
No urgency, no width, and basically Southgate decided after 60 minutes he wanted a draw. So what if now lose on Tuesday? We could end up being a 3rd place team. Czechs are a better version of Scotland. Why no Sancho again? You've got 4 lads who can only operate on the left. Why no Bellingham we needed a spark in midfield. If they're good enough to play for Dortmund they're old enough and good enough to play for England. Ffs! Chance to qualify tonight and he plays it safe!!!
Slow tippy tippy works for some countries but their passing tends to be more insightful when they have the chance.
Play like that tonight against Croatia and you'll do em. Just hope the midfield can recover in time because they gave their all tonight. McGinn was immense, talk was a few years ago Fergie wanted United board to sign him.
Congrats to Ian and the Scots but I'm afraid Southgate, nice bloke though I'm sure he is, has not got the courage to make use of his resources. No fluidity, no flair, just metronomic sideways trundling. We had two youth teams that won World and European championships just a few years back. Players that other countries would have brought through to be leading lights now and instead we have Declan Rice, Phillips playing as defensive midfielders against Scotland and getting out competed. Southgate got massively lucky with our path to the semis at the World Cup but I was happy to go along with him but I'm afraid my patience has run out. We're nowhere near the better teams at the Finals.
We won’t mate. Possibly a draw and we exit the tournament are glorious failures again. It’s the Scotland way.
1 goal in 3 hours. Captain gone missing in both games. Can't beat the third worst team in the tournament. Much to improve on.
That's a very interesting take on the 3rd lowest ranked team in the tournament getting an excellent result against one of the favourites...
We're up against 2 poor centre halves next game but a well organised team. I'd start Calvert-Lewin, Grealish, Foden and Sancho, plenty of pace and vision. Sterling is quick but his first touch is always a cut back, Mount been good but looks tired after 45 mins due to a long season. Kane needs a rest and to get his head straight, somethings not right with him.
Scotland did a good job there, hope they can get enough against Croatia to go through. Agree that Sancho ought to get a chance against the Czechs now. As for Kane - a rest might be best. Now I need to swap him out of my fantasy team.
Foden on left for City has been amazing, Sancho on the right and Grealish doing what he wants, just creating chaos and mismatches. But to be effective we need our full backs to overlap. We've got Shaw, Walker, James and Chilwell all renowned for their overlapping skills. If you play Rice and Phillips they must cover for them. If Southgate can't treat one or both to do it then give Bellingham a go due to his pace. We miss Henderson massively, he's always on the front foot.
I'm a bit p1ssed off with that performance. We were there for the taking if I'm honest so like Andy Robertson has just said a 0-0 draw doesn't do them justice.
