Are following in the wake of supposed 10000 season ticket sales. Just coincidence? Bad news hiding behind good?
I’d say there’s no link whatsoever. Dane leaving is a complete curveball, Ismael leaving is something many predicted, not that he’d want to go, but that offers would come in. Alex leaving? He’s out of contract, it’s been a known possibility for years, and still I’m not convinced it’ll definitely happen.
I agree with you , I do not believe there is anything sinister in the news coming from the club , fans are always interested in season ticket sales & the club should not have to hide the positives because dark clouds are hovering .
This, complaints about beer prices and the state of a former railway station, hope everything is ok hun. If you need to talk to someone I'm always available.
They only question id ask is.. why do people always want to leave us. Are we just simply a halfway house of a club. Gets a bit demoralising after a while..
I’d say because we offer ourselves as a stepping stone to get these people here. Val has the release clause of £2M so we’ll have said to him something along the lines of “do a good job, teams will get interested in you and if they meet the release fee, you can talk to them.” He might not have joined in the first place had the release fee not been in place.
Thing is, every one always says what a lovely club we are, Cole regretted leaving us apparently so surely some just think I'll stay because I'm happy here?
What @Donny-Red said. There's not a lot we can do about any of it other than what we've done i.e. include clauses in contracts so we're adequately compensated if our staff are headhunted, pay staff well but within our means and try to provide a good working environment. Mowatt, Val and Dane all looked very well motivated throughout the season and happy in the role they were asked to perform in. I hope they all stay but if they don't there's nothing funny going on and no blame to attach.
I'm not a glass half empty, half full person. I'm more of a glass wi' nowt in it person. But if you can't moan about an old railway line being abandoned and derelict then there's no hope ! I love my old railways.
The thing is it’s not news coming from the club. We will always get this sort of thing unless and until the owners stand their corner
Because it’s only us you’re looking at? We’re far from unique, it’s the industry standard. And if it wasn’t, we wouldn’t be able to ever find replacements. On a forum somewhere in Germany/ Austria there’ll be fans bemoaning the fact they lose players and managers to high paying clubs like Barnsley in England.
I am not quite sure what you mean ,could you please expand your points regarding "we always get this sort of thing " & " the owners standing their corner " , this is not criticism it is a genuine interest in your comment
History makes me think we will always get this sort of thing. Our players/coaches being cherry picked However this time Dane has stated that our star players will only be allowed to leave for top dollar prices. Ie we will stand our ground. The same attitude is needed for CEO’s and coaches. If Danes’s head is being turned by Forest as it appears then they could if they wished negotiate a deal with him to persuade him to stay. If we are relatively better off than most other clubs then we should be in a position to do so. The same applies to Val but together with the £2m buy out and that we will have target replacements makes me think it is less likely in his case.
The owners are standing their ground according to Alan Nixon.. West Brom don't want to pay the 2 mil, where we are insisting if they want him they will have too.
You can only guess what is going on behind the scenes & talks with our CEO & owners of our club may have taken place , we don"t know, regarding Val , the compensation figur has been set & it seems a high price, we will see
