Just had a look at the West Brom forum, almost universal approval of the appointment of Valerian. A big expectation that Mowatt will follow him to the Hawthorns too. It’s like reading a letter from your wife saying she’s leaving you and taking the kids. Time for new heroes/wife.
Can’t bring myself to read it , too upset. Just waiting for the divorce papers to come through to make it official
A few of them mentioning Dike too. Imagine first home game of the season, West Brom rock up to Oakwell with Ismael, Mowatt and Dike! In all seriousness, I can’t see Dike going there but possibly Mowatt.
his dead ball delivery is brilliant He was vital to how we played last year But certainly not the best midfielder I have seen in a reds shirt
Good points but I can't imagine WBA holding too many fears for Val, he's clearly a bloke that backs himself and the players that don't like his methods will be loaned out. I just hope he doesn't chase our best players.
Goals dried up, dialled in a few performances towards the end there, time to move Styles into the middle.
I agree with your latter point but not the first 2 at all. Mowatt got 8 goals and 7 assists in 44 games in a team that generally bypassed him in our play. I thought he kept going until the very end, even when he wasn’t at his best he was still covering every blade of grass and offering for the ball.
Looks as if some of us are destined not to see Val lead the Reds out at Oakwell , real shame , but he goes with my best wishes , let’s hope we get someone in quick if he does go .
These comments about VI not being suited to the WBA style as he plays this direct/ vertical style. Remember Sam Alladyce going to West Ham, took them up first time of asking, despite plenty of West Ham fans and football pundits saying it was a mis-match.
My loyalty is to my town and my football club, im not interested in anyone who comes here for a year then goes.
I was devastated when we lost Duncan Sharp, we survived Bob Wood, we survived Pat Howard, we survived Stuart Barraclough, we survived Mick McCarthy, we survived Bobby Doyle, we survived Ronnie Glavin, we survived Larry May, we survived David Hirst, we survived Viv Anderson, we survived Danny Wilson, we survived I could go on naming all the players and Managers we have sold and lost to better and sometimes worse teams that we thought would devastate Barnsley F.C. when they went but we still survive, If they want to go you can`t stop them as long as we the supporters stick with Barnsley F.C. we will survive and that`s all that matters.
Brilliantly put. If Val wants to be at least 4th choice after being turned down by Wilder, Wagner and Appleton that's his choice. We will move on just as we have when we have lost many others in the past. The club is still around as are us fans. That is more important than losing any personnel who can be replaced.
We'are all tarn arnt wi... oh and he ent gone yet...kinnell fire we'll be reight r tarn r club cheer up...
