Sollbauer for player coach would be 'interesting'. He seems to have the right attributes, liked by the players and loves the club.

Possibly a gamble too far at this stage?

But they’re a level above our usual pond.

If Dane was staying it wouldn’t surprise me if we’d got a coach from the MLS. No idea now. I presume Big Paul will have to fly back to run things for a while again. I am assuming the club were aware there was a chance Val could leave and would have worked any visa problems into their thinking

They’re where we brought our last three head coaches in from..

Can’t see anyone like Lampard coming anywhere near. Nowhere near the player budget he’ll be looking for

I suspect the approach will be to use the same algorithms James Cryne set up that found the last 3 head coaches. The difference this time is we'll likely be unable to approach some because of the joy of brexit so have to start further down the list.

I wouldn't be averse to Lampard or Wilder, but I don't think they'll be anywhere near the frame, nor would budget and salary be likely to fit with their expectations. Do we have any coaches in the english lower leagues playing a high intensity pressing style of football?

That would be interesting - were we the first to appoint a non white manager with Viv Anderson? why not be the first to appoint a female Head coach. She certainly knows her stuff

I believe the first black manager was in the 1960s, though his name escapes me.

And pretty sure Keith Alexander at Grimsby was slightly before Vivs appointment.

Love the outside of the box thinking. I'd mentioned Emma Hayes in a previous post. Listened to her just a few times on the radio and TV doing analysis of the euros. Heard her previous also. Bright lady. Quite inspirational......appointing her really would be ground breaking.

Just give Wilder whatever he wants. Really like the guy. Doesn't moan or make excuses, plays decent football. He almost got me to the point where I wished dem blades well ... almost, but not quite.

Was wondering about him as well. Did ok at Preston, until the squad got a bit stale, and the reason Blackburn didn't attempt to play any football at Oakwell this season because of the number that Preston did on them with their pressing game.
