West Brom have one advantage - money to spend, but I would say that it looks like a real rebuilding job there, unlike say when Norwich came down, they pretty much continued with the same team, WBA have lost several players - unless there's some really good signings I can see them not going up at the first attempt, wonder how much patience Val will get from the fans and board?

WBA don't want to pay upfront? Tell 'em to ballax, they should be minted.

I wish him well if your in a job for 8 months and another employer comes to you and says they will double your wages 3 year deal your going to jump. If he did ***** for 8 months we wouldn't be loyal to him we would be wanting shut. But I think our young players executed his style perfectly older pros may not take to it as well.

Its nothing personal with him, I like him , would I want him to succeed at WBA one of Championship our rivals no!
Anyway football manager is not typical of other jobs, you are supposedly building something, I don't think committing to a couple of years is a big ask, he will hardly be on peanuts
Also do you know they are doubling his wage?

I don’t understand people wishing him well. I’m not bitter or angry at him for leaving, but he’s going to another Championship team. I want him to win less and lose more games than we do next season.

Think that will require more thought though than shouting a number! Be interesting to see what direction the next "press " guy takes us in.

I'd be shocked if west brom couldn't at least double his wages. We keep getting told were bottom 3 in terms of budget in the championship.

If he hangs on a bit longer, he might end up with the Tottenham job the rate they're having people turn them down.

Surely to goodness this should have been sorted out before they were allowed to approach him.

Their owner sounds like a second hand car tire kicker.
Agrees a price over the phone then admits he is a thousand quid short but blames your car.

Lots of clubs would have withdrawn from negotiations for things like this .

There's only two types of football apparently.
You can smash it aimlessly into the sky in a dreadful spiral of non football or you can induce narcolepsy by interminably passing the ball sideways between the back four.
No other style of football has ever existed or is conceivable.
Ajax, Brazil, Holland, the Denmark of Jesper Olsen etc never existed. I never saw Barnsley graced by Ronnie Glavin, John Hendrie, Allan Clarke, even Stendel etc because there is no possible alternative to hoofing it that wins games.

Lol. Indeed. My agenda is that I'm absolutely fed up of being told the only alternative to vertical football is tippy tappy rubbish. It's driving me insane!

Maybe we should petition for the forum to be rebranded as the faux dichotomy forum.

But the football last season was far from hoofing it aimlessly it was well organised and required a high level of fitness and discipline. I doubt west broms ageing team will be able to play it or have the fitness levels for it.

IMO you’re exaggerating the hoof ball mantra just as much as some saying the only alternative is tippy tappy .
We were direct at time but hoofball hit and hope it wasn’t .
