Where does it mention a retrospective points deduction , just says financial fine and a reprimand about future conduct or am I missing something, again

‘That being the case, ahead of the publication of the 2021/22 season fixture lists on 24 June at 9am, the EFL can confirm that it has developed an interchangeable fixture list for Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers, while the disciplinary process is finalised.
The fixture list for both the Championship and League One will be published in full based on the 2020/21 final standings, pending any appeals relating to this decision’.
Well that extract seems to indicate something could change

Basically, they have to republish their accounts from about the last 3 or 4 years. And if it still breaks rules after that, they are down and Wycombe reinstated

That would be amazing if they got swapped with Wycombe, and so well deserved!

Hee hee hee. Just hope that the refiling of accounts, inevitable appeals etc can be turned can be turned around quickly enough.

Although Wycombe will have been preparing for life in League 1, so might not be ready for a season in the Championship... (I don't know what movements they've had in or out)

Both sides can appeal as well, so will do well for either club to prepare properly for next season by time finalised.

I hope to be proven wrong, but they aren’t turning round all those restated accounts in the next few weeks. However, they will break FFP so they are going to come unstuck. But how that helps Wycombe I do not know.

Let's hope Wycombe get reinstated. It will be like a home fixture for me.

From that article it's clear that the authorities think there's a possibility that Derby and Wycombe will be fulfilling each other's fixtures next season. That suggests to me like a points deduction for last season is still hanging in the air. But they have to get everything resolved pretty quickly if that's the case, as obviously the clock is really ticking.

£100k fine is ok but a points deduction is essential to keep teams honest.

I wouldn't get too excited. Big clubs always seem to win cases against smaller clubs.

It's all the nasty EFL's fault they've got it in for them! Given what happened with the dee dars they'd be better having the points deduction and starting afresh in league 1 imo.

The point regarding relegation is that the EFL can appeal the £100k fine and get it changed to a points deduction, not that there may be a deduction after the accounts are resubmitted - this may happen of course, but not in time for next season.

Leave it as it is, then when they publish the accounts, give them a points deduction to apply from the start of the coming season.

Wycombe was a lovely story and all that but they were a horrible team with all sorts of antics last season, having not had that much time to prepare for a championship season given how late the playoffs were.

If they were reinstated in a few weeks after Derby’s accounts are published or if the efl appeal and get a points deduction, it would be even worse this time around.

Plus let’s not be arrogant, we might be in a relegation scrap ourselves. We don’t know what the team will look like or who will be managing it. I’d rather go toe to toe with Derby County starting on -12 than Wycombe Wanderers starting on 0.
