    It's been our traditional midweek home day for decades. It gives an extra day to prepare for Saturday, especially if we are away so they have to travel Friday.

    In fact, a bit of simple arithmetic shows that a Tuesday evening match is closer to being the mid-point between games than a Wednesday evening game is. 5pm on Saturday (approx. finishing time) to 7.45 pm on Tuesday equals 74 hours 45 minutes. Tuesday 9.45 pm (approx. finish) to 3pm Saturday equals 89 hours 15 minutes. If we play on Wednesday in between the two Saturday games the gaps between games are 98 hours 45 minutes, followed by 65 hours 15 minutes. Quite a substantial difference, I would suggest.

    I noticed that, but April fixtures are 3 away and 3 at home. Also noticed we start and finish away which is opposite to last season. Glad we’re at home Boxing Day and only down at Nottingham New Years Day

    That depends, if you work and have historically altered your shift pattern well in advance to accommodate for Tuesdays, like I used to do, and indeed, the wife has for childcare purposes, you may have to re-arrange it all again, if you’re able to.

    If we play Tuesday, the difference between the two gaps between games is 14.5 hours, as opposed to a difference of 33.5 hours if we play on Wednesday. If you look at it that way, it is a substantial difference. My point, basically, is that Tuesday evening is some way closer to being the halfway point between the two Saturday games. Obviously, this is because midweek games have an evening kick-off.
