    If so deal is probably structured in such a way that should they sack him, he will be entitled to a max 12 months pay.

    Also, as it stands then: 6 weeks until the start of the season.

    No manager/head coach
    No CEO (tbc but everyone says it's a done deal)
    No captain

    The confusion is it’s been fraught with rumours. Val apparently wanted a 3-year contract. West Brom a 12-month rolling contract. They don’t want to pay compo. They’ll pay £1.5 mill, we say £2 mill. They say ok but now want it to be paid in instalments. Now a 4-year contract. I’ll believe what it is when it’s officially announced - sick of rumours from journos
