I suspect he's been tipped off what comes next in tomorrows press and I also suspect his wife has also had something to say about constantly being in the limelight.
Does that mean now he can refuse to attend any independent enquiry into the response to covid, or would he be forced to if still an MP? That also poses the question though, if he felt he had to resign from the cabinet, surely being an MP carries the same sort of standing. Surely has to stand down that role as well now?
What an honourable thing to do. It just goes to show there is great deal of decency within the ranks of the Government. I shall certainly be voting for the Conservatives when I next have the opportunity.
It shouldn't be anything to do with resigning. It's a stackable offence and yes from ALL his paid positions
I think he'd have to attend either way surely, as someone who was in a position of public servant etc. I use 'servant' loosely
This was what I was trying to hint at before. Resigning is the easy option that has been handed to hi... If the focus had been on handling of the pandemic and his part, it could have been a sacking.. have to resign as MP etc..
Why? Breaking distancing guidelines to have a sexual encounter in your work office is a sackable offence on its own. Doesn't need anything else to go with it
If everyone who had an affair in the office was sacked, we'd have a lot of vacancies in a lot of businesses. He had to go based on the hypocrisy of his words/actions. Cheating on your wife, while reprehensible morally, is not a stackable offence. Breaking the very rules you've inflicted on the general public for 12 months is unacceptable.
Most people don't get caught having the affair physically in the office that's paid for by the public. To take it one stage further, a lot of people masturbate. If he was caught doing that at his desk he'd be sacked
Easy way out tho to resign. Now he'll probably get his own newspaper column, sacked he would have been somewhat a pariah.
Exactly. Boris should have sacked him for it but enough people defended it as 'personal life' that he's got away with it and instead stepped down
