It’s not a huge staff but we also need I remember not every position is directly linked to coaching. So it’s not like we’ll be left without a coaching team. We might lose someone from sports science or the match analyst side. Still a loss whoever it is after last season, but these people can be replaced by others looking to make the step up from where they are now. Rob Zuk is still there, as is the recruitment model, and it sounds like the new guy is bringing some replacements with him. Disco and Bobby staying.
The way things go though isn’t it. If they want out and clubs make an offer then they are off. Certainly a very big few weeks on and off the pitch. Presume the news about Dane will come out this week too.
Works both ways though doesn't it. If you come with a manager and yes sacked you're usually sent packing with him!
Conway should get any deals pending over the line in the next week or so. Cos surely Dane has left a couple on the back burner. The centre mid from MK Dons springs to mind. Rember the best ransfer window ever... Conway was acting CEO and brought all those in. Then let the new coach have a look what he's got in the next few weeks a then see where he thinks we're ok and where we aren't. While Conway is getting a new man to run the club for him.
Ok.. but shes only young where people tend to specialise.. You may be right, but I thought if Conway trusts her move her up, she can grow into the role under his wing.. already here that's half the battle..
Bit of a conflict of interest though perhaps with Dane being her other half. Would move her on too. Definitely think the club needs to look at the environment it creates to attract and then keep talent. Keep acting like a stepping stone and we will always be one.
In an interview she says when Dane was offered the role, he didn’t want to take it without her and a position was found for her. That said moving from America and him going to Forest is a little bit different.
Genuine question. A couple of weeks ago, Dane gave an interview suggesting everything was rosy and he wasn’t expecting anyone to leave. Everyone on here was buzzing, and very complimentary towards him. If he does now go and takes people with him, does his recent interview make him look completely disingenuous and just as ruthless as everyone else in football, or is all this just a genuine change in developments which he wasn’t expecting?
Funny you should say that Marc. At the time of his comments it wasn't long after discussions on Dike who we had declined to pursue further despite the impression given that this was already a done (pre)deal. I dont think anyone had a 100% belief he would sign but Dane pushed the agenda that we could afford him and he was in our plans. So when he stated comments re Val, Mowatt my thoughts were exactly in line with your comments. Should i believe him or is it just good PR. I thought time will tell and i held back from posting here. My answer to your question is, i think he was giving us the positive spin and trying to keep us motivated (especially at ticket time). I don't think he was lying or being intentionally misleading, but i think he knew that he was only giving us the positive side of the spin and the reality that could be equally different was highly likely.
I think it's fairly safe to assume that Dike would have been on next season's official team photo had we been promoted. See also Ismael and Murphy.
That's him.. a Wigan fan was asking Nixon on twitter about him. He didn't alaberate just said he's waiting for a offer from a championship club.. but it's gone abit quite.. With not having a CEO at the minute I just though it may be us.. Sure he was linked somewhere ....a 'hold on a couple of weeks while we get sorted then we'll have you in' .. kind of thing. I may be wrong and there's nowt in the pipeline.. we'll have to see.
