In the meantime, Lake District shed here we come! It will be lovely. At least it gives me the chance to try a proper trip in my EV, it will be the furthest it's been since I bought it 9 months ago. Already done my due diligence on where the chargers are!
If you've not been able to go anywhere, and all of a sudden, somewhere opens up (Mallorca in this instance) then everyone will flock there. I'd expect flight prices to be inflated too. But yeah, I reckon it'll be very busy.
I can only imagine. We're booked to go to Poland for a wedding in September. Our flight out was cancelled by Jet2 due to them reducing their flight schedule. I can almost guarantee, the flight we need to book now will be triple the price if Poland ends up on the green list.
Not sure DR, probably a bit down on normal if my checks on September prices were anything to go by, but not massively.
There is a certain irony as infection rates in the UK are considerably higher than most overseas holiday destinations. East Lothian, where I live, currently running at 550 per 100,000, France, Italy Spain and Portugal all less than a fifth of that number. I’m going away for safety!
Well, the UK destinations are pricing themselves out of the market. I get there is the supply and demand argument and they have had a hard time with no trade, but the whole country have had less brass in their pockets. Looked at Newquay for a week for 3.. some guest houses were over 2k and not far off for a static caravan. Just not prepared to pay that sort of money. Probably wait til 2022 now and hopefully get abroad somewhere.
The whole country is just beautiful. Our favourite European destination by some distance. We have been to several parts of the country but never actually Dubrovnik, although we stayed in Cavtat which is just a short boat ride away. Favourite part is probably the Istrian peninsula, around Porec / Rovinj. Just can't wait to go again. So disappointed it was pulled this year, again.
we took the boat from Cavtat and against advice walked around the walls in the heat of the day. Absolutely stunning views.
I’ve written off going away (non work related) this year. Too much hassle and stress with the potential for rules to change at 5 minutes notice.
we have not been abroad since 1997. Totally not missed it at all. Had some fantastic holidays in various places in the UK.
