No not in the same way as the Massives have...... https://www.lutontown.co.uk/news/20...on-cards-mobile-tickets-and-smart-turnstiles/ So the way to get people to spend more is to take away consumer choice. No mention either of what happens if the technology goes down like card machines and the like do on a regular basis. Will they all of a sudden be up for accepting cash? It's a slippery slope.
All about consumer choice. If the club ran their own catering and had a app where you can order on your card, give your name and when you want to come and collect it, you can walk down for it and it's ready so no more queues at half time that would be great and people would miss less of the game. Nearly five million are still heavily reliant on cash..... https://www.theguardian.com/busines...ser-with-only-one-in-six-payments-now-in-cash Then there is domestic violence and the elderly...... https://inews.co.uk/news/consumer/c...r-cash-domestic-abuse-elderly-warning-1069011 Cash use probably will not get back to pre March 2020 levels. However it will increase again a fair chunk compared to last year now that more places more accepting of cash such as pubs are back open.
Do we not? That’s astonishing. For all the progress that the club has made in the last few years, in certain respects we’re still in the dark ages.
Or give season pass holders the option to have their seat ripped out and replaced with a padded one like you get at MK Dons.
Cash isn't going to disappear any time soon, we still have cheque for crickeys sake. [Now there is something we should get rid of today]
So I can pay for an ice cream from my local ice cream van by card but I can’t buy a pie at Oakwell with it? That’s bonkers.
Cheques? I just think they are so slow and cumbersome. Much better ways of doing things which help us all. My parents still use cheques, and it drives me insane waiting for them to be cashed.
I can do it on my banking app on my phone. I just find them handy for sending money through the post for gifts etc.
Its generally sending them that's a problem - you're in someone else's hands waiting for them to take it to the bank (many people can't cash it on their phone), and then waiting on an out dated and slow process.
2 reasons I don't have food or drink at Oakwell. 1) queues, 2) no card payments. I find it incredible that in 2021, a 2nd tier football team can't get card machines set up inside the stadium.
Exactly the same for me. Loads of times I’ve had my card with me and no cash so not been able to get anything even when I’m starving after heading there straight after work.
