Listening to the guys from "the other Bundesliga" on Football Heaven - 4-2-3-1 he likes to play out from the back - Goalkeeper has to be able to pass, the 2 holding midfielders are relied on to break the opposition press, he plays 3 attacking midfielders with a lot of width - so I would expect the right and left sides to be like inside forwards. He plays attacking football - its more about outscoring the opposition then stopping them from scoring - that could be quite difficult as a lot of teams set up simply not to lose when they play away, even when they come to "teams like Barnsley" - lost count of the number of games we generally lose at home by the odd goal after 90 minutes of spoiling tactics by supposedly superior opposiion.

Are we still going vertical or are we trying horizontal this time around?

There's a happy medium somewhere, there must be.

I liked the change of pace that Vals "Vertical Football" offered to begin with but I think most of us would admit that it became less "direct football" and more "aimless punt" as the season wore on.

But for the love of God I hope we don't start with crab football playing it out from the back. For all but the best teams it doesn't work and it's invariably boring.
