I don't mind playing out from the back so long as we get up the pitch, not pass it around at the back drawing the press.

Evidently Markus takes a great interest in the reserves/23s as well. He's a big fan of Schoppy seconds

I agree we should be talking about players and tactics , I think if we can get Hourihane on loan the Connor Schopp relationship would be ideal for the Barnsley Schopp era

What I find galling is at the first sniff of success, the managers fk off. Johnson, Heckingbottom, Struber and Ismael have all done it, and the rumour is that Stendel was sacked while trying. If they’re going to be this ruthless when success comes, we should be just as ruthless when it doesn’t. Can’t have it both ways.

When you look at Struber and Ismael in particular, they've had it far easier than Heckingbottom and Stendel. They've been backed more and suffered less player sales (whether through circumstance or choice or a mix of the two).

The former two had good reason to be thoroughly miffed. Struber and Ismael very little reason.

I’m very matter of fact about it all now. I’m not bitter towards Ismael for leaving. It is what it is. But if/as/when we find ourselves in a position where the current manager isn’t cutting it, I’ll be saying they need to go. If 9 months is long enough for a manager to leave, it’s also long enough for them to be sacked.

We need to get used to the way the club recruits both players and staff. The philosophy is clear enough. If we write into their contracts that they will have the possibility to leave for a fee and that attracts ambitious players and staff, it works well in terms both of performance and ambition. It seems to me to be healthy development whether of players, or staff. It does mean that we are going to have to get used to a bit of a revolving door - aren't we already? But as long as we get paid when they go and it's generally more than we paid to get them in, it works well for everyone. I wonder if Schopp has a get-out clause like Ismael? Why should he not? We succeed - Schopp succeeds - he benefits in terms of career and finance and so does the club. Like sailing with a tail-wind. Simple really. Let's hope that it continues to work well.

I'm not bitter about Ismael leaving either. A little disappointed for varying reasons for the others, not always at them, but the more this happens, the more deadened you become to it.

    And thats a real shame.

Good to see that we have someone in place ahead of pre-season. Welcome Markus, and good luck. Let's see where the new adventure takes us.

Unlike many of your recent predecessors, you're coming into BFC at a time where expectations will now be high, perhaps unfairly so, after we significantly over-achieved last season. We fans need to be mindful of this is in terms of how we judge you. To succeed you will need, and hopefully will receive, adequate support in the transfer market from our owners, who have now seen what's achievable with an improved recruitment strategy that makes better use of our available resources. Our recruitment last season was impeccable in terms of finding players within our budget who could come in and deliver improvement pretty much instantly. Hopefully, we can continue to do this and to outperform clubs who have far greater budgets than us.

I rest my case, you sum the modern fan per
Ultimately it's the club decision to move the managers on & make a profit as in the case of the last two & I personally don't want the club to be ruthless as you say by sacking them every time the going gets tough, they set them on to do a job, back them & support them & stop using them as a cash cow

I've read all about him but nowhere does it answer the important question - does he wear jeans, a suit or trackie bottoms ;)
