    was never really sure why we needed an academy manager and a chief operations person. Instant saving for the club surely?

    Dane didn't want to make the move here on his own so asked his girlfriend to come with him. She wanted to work in football in that capacity.
    Luckily after Dane started at the club Bobby walked into the office and asked for someone to work in that capacity above him and suggested Danes wife could be perfect for the job.

    Not according to this interview with her:

    Murphy sent Terry’s credentials to the bosses at Barnsley, and they were impressed. They wanted to find a role for Terry, too. But she didn’t want anyone to think that she got a job because she was dating Murphy — they are now engaged — so she started looking for jobs at other clubs.

    Then one day, Bobby Hassell, academy manager at Barnsley, walked into Murphy’s office.

    “We need help organizationally within the academy. We need better oversight of our sports science and medicine,” Hassell told his boss. “We just need help.”

    Hassell had seen Terry’s credentials and knew she was qualified.

    “Is this something she would be willing to do?” Hassell asked.

    Terry was soon hired as the COO of Barnsley’s academy.
