I understand this, but how many on here have left their job for more money and taken the Assistant Manager, the Team Leader (Captain), the Sport Science Coach, and the Video Analyst with them?

 

Yes he's gone for more money which is more understandable the thing that is really starting to piss a lot of reds fans off is his quite blatant attempt to remove us as a possibly promotion rival by dismantling a setup that was put together before his arrival and he had absolutely nothing to do with. For me however great last season was his cowardly attempt to "kneecap" Barnsley FC means I wish him the same harm he is trying to inflict on our club.

 

Hecky did the exact same thing in 2018 in terms of staff. He took Clapham (assistant), Winder (science) and Bailey (analyst). The club found new staff and have prospered again. Just as we’re in the process of doing right now.

I appreciate it’s not ideal, to lose a clutch of personnel in a short timeframe. But it’s the by-product of success. As Val said in Swansea, it makes you sexy.

I’ve seen so many players and staff come and go since 2016, it’s the nature of the industry. And because it’s normal, it’s never as impactful as fans might assume. So long as they’re replaced by other good people.

If you think he's sat there going 'i know how to ruin Barnsley, I'll make all their coaches leave' rather than him sitting there thinking 'i know where I can get the best coaches from to improve my new team' then you're absolutely crazy.

There's no way on earth that he's trying to kneecap Barnsley. He's simply trying to improve his new club just like anyone would.

 

But what happens when a new boss comes in and brings in his own trusted people? The incumbents are just released. They might as well go with VI.

 

Give up. If I left my job for elsewhere and the new company had vacancies that needed filling, I'd look at people I knew were capable/reliable from my previous employer.

To fans, the club means everything. To people that work in the game, it's generally just a job.

 

I've done exactly that once in the past. Got a new job, they needed more people so first thing I did was contacted 2 of my former colleagues and asked them to come with me. I wasn't trying to kneecap my former company or anything like that but they were good workers who I trusted and got on well with. The chance to work with them again was something I wasn't passing up
