The Dove is the one on Pontefract Road isnt it? Went in their once , before the Man City match the season we got to play offs. Not from Barnsley so not sure of the Pub geography
I just did Google , yes The Mount, thanks. Looking at Google Maps "The Dove" looks to be opposite side of the road where I remember going for pre-match drinks for a while.
I almost agree with you on this but there is at least one former poster Id rather not meet again - though fortunately I think there is little chance I will
It’s a good job you including the word ‘friendly’ in there otherwise it could have been an autocorrect and changed the sentiment somewhat!
A couple of years back I had the pleasure of watching some England games on TV in The Crown Inn at Elsecar with a certain Mr C. Seriously, a lovely chap.
i think another bbs do is on the cards peeps, had a stonker in wombwell with the late great uncle mort, monk bretton and i think dodworth as well
If it's being held in your village, it's your responsibility to organise everything. I'll certainly be happy to meet the old dog,
There’s a marquee in the George & Dragon garden we could hire? & chip in towards a buffet? I could have a word, know the gaffer well. Got an outside bar too.
'We'? The responsibility's yours. Everyone else just turns up, drinks & eats. Uncle Mort set a wonderful example. Oh, and Uncle Mort brought his lovely dog, too.
We had a meetup in the promotion season for the home game against Donny a couple of years ago, met Arabian Ian, Bossman, Stahlrost and Redhelen, all very pleasant people, met up with Arabian Ian last week, top man. Had dealings with Stahrost when we bought the Cryne/Preedy flag, another thoroughly decent bloke.
