Was just thinking same. Hope anderson isn't lurking around on goal kicks or it will be a long season.
If we play on the deck a bit more with the same effort and pace high up the pitch we might surprise a few teams again.
I went to that FA Cup defeat at Fratton Park. Bloody hell. Central defenders standing on the goalposts, and the keeper rolling it out to them. There you go - do something with that! People will be pining for Vertical Val if we start doing that again.
I hated that style of play/tactic struber brought in. It just invited pressure on the defence and players like Anderson who aren't great with the ball at feet suffered. Mowatt used to drop so deep to recive the ball and we ended up playing football in our own half most of the time.
If we did we have more savvy defenders, these are better equipped, if we do. I've no objections to that as long as they put the foot thru it when required. I'm more worried about losing some of the players than the coach. New chapter ,just let's give them time without screaming at em if we're not getting results.
If this change results in the Bournemouth away performance on a weekly basis I'll be happy. Schopp needs to tweak not reinvent the wheel, otherwise he's going to struggle for results and will lose the dressing room and fans quickly. We need to hit the ground running, get results quickly and with points on the board you can slowly implement changes to our approach. The pre season is short, you can't create a solid culture in 6 weeks.
