We used to let the kids watch it- remember watching England Tunisia game in 98 - cursing under my breath because my mates were at the game
Why exactly do UEFA insist on starting it at 8pm on a Sunday??? No...don't tell me...I think I know the answer!
It just seems common sense to let kids arrive late this once, though I hope they can still arrive at normal time if their parents wasn’t them to It is a valid reason for a flexible bedtime the first major final for the England men’s Team for 55 years My parents were fairly strict about bedtimes but at the age of 7 I was allowed if fact encouraged to stay to watch the first lunar landing which was after 9pm. And I still remember it. Unfortunately I don’t remember the 66 World Cup. Earliest England team memories are the 1970 one
It is pretty stupid putting it on at that time on a Sunday night, 7pm would have been more appropriate. In reality for much of Europe though, particularly Italy and Spain, they are used to matches starting at that time on a Sunday evening. They tend to stay up later than us and be eating beyond that time.
It's pretty much always been a late Sunday kick off. The final of first European championship in 1960 kicked off at half 8 at night, Euro 96 at half 7.
