I love Scotland and its people. One of the finest and most beautiful places on the planet. I want Scotland to win whoever they play apart from of they're playing England. However I think you're wrong about Scottish media Ian. I'm old enough to remember all the hype around Ally McCoists tartan army and how you were gonna win tbe World Cup. Like all the hype at the moment it was sickening. I agree with Churton....down here, proper football fans spend less time living on the memory of 66 than they do bemoaning about the fact that we've done f3ck all for the last 55 years.
Imagine the media bringing up the last major England final on the day they are in a major final. What a disgrace.
I'm sure the Scottish media would be quick to bring up the last time Scotland reached the final of a major tourn... oh.
Totally agree Ian. But can we ( Yorkshire ) be included in the next ballot. To join in self governance. As much as I love my country. I love my county more. and similar sized populations I believe.
No it doesn't. It's merely a wish to be independent. It's like saying 'I prefer to shop at Aldi so therefore I must hate Lidl'. Doesn't scan.
I would have thought the Scottish folk would have been too preoccupied with arranging the open top bus parade and street party for when lockdown ends to celebrate their glorious 0 0 victory over us
Personally I love Scotland and the Scots. The Scottish Highlands are my favourite place on Earth (after Oakwell)!
I've got no problem with the country but if they want independence let them go. But I've one stipulation wait until Elizabeth has died she loves the Highlands and its not right the union to split under her reign. But on a footy matter let's be honest every nation are jealous of England Fc. Enjoy the moment. It's coming home!!!!!!!
Thing is though, if Scotland were in the final of a major tournament, I reckon the majority of England would be absolutely rooting for you.
Imagine if Scotland got to a final and an English paper had images evoking Halidon Hill, Flodden or Culloden and a similar headline? I thought that sort of journalism died out in the 90’s.
I'd say the "normal" sensible thing if you live on a small island is to get along with eachother and be one. I understand that the history of the UK is so much longer and more troubled but it's curious how a guy from California can have common ground with someone from Maine (approximately 3,000 miles away) but you can't get along with your neighbor and wish to put up more borders. Speaking of troubled history I see the Ulster bonfires are going well
It was just a joke really. I just don't think "it would upset the queen" is a valid reason to be against it!
Some pretty imposing borders around the south of California. Get rid of them and start living as one?
