These experts nowadays are nothing more than mental health terrorists. Vaccines were supposedly our way out but now medical celebrities who have enjoyed their year of attention don't want to go back to being hidden away so keep mentioning awful things that cannot be allowed to happen. If people don't feel safe going back to pre March 2020 life then they can simply stop going to pubs, restaurants, events etc and stay at home still. But those people cannot be allowed to force restrictions on the rest of us so they feel safer to venture out properly again.

And yet with your clearly superior forward thinking and common sense, when you were very strongly against lockdown twelve months ago, you did not mention any of the things you called out earlier in the thread, despite them being logical consequences?

I wasn’t against the initial lockdown. However they did it in my view too late, half heartedly and completely wasted the time by not doing what they should have done regarding an effective track and trace system (which really should have been done for less than 10% of the cost in 10% of the time).

You talk about the lack of scientific evidence - where is the scientific evidence that if we hadn’t had any lockdowns we wouldn’t have been looking at three, five, even ten times more deaths?

Your anger isn’t with us, it seems. Mine isn’t with you per se, it’s a huge mess which has been mishandled from the beginning. Just don’t apportion blame where it doesn’t sit. We might as well blame all of those people who were so desperate for Brexit to go through they voted in Tories in places like Barnsley and Donny, giving them the huge majority they sit with now and the ability to apply bills like the protest one so easily.

We really should be getting back to full speed now. I will never agree with you that we should never have locked down - but I certainly agree with you that the majority of the last 12 months has been a shitshow and that there is likely more to come. I, my kids, maybe even any future grandkids will likely be paying for this for decades.

It's been spoken about due to getting enough signatures on the petition.

Tomorrow Parliament will debate and vote on draft Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021. These will mandate the vaccine not just for staff in care homes but also all those who go to carry out work at the care home such as repair men and those working on utilities etc.

We tried to tell you what would happen.

And both the prime minster and health secretary havd today 'advised' all nightclubs and other large event organisers (ergo Barnsley) to enforce the use of vaccine passports. The vaccine passports that aren't going to exist as I seem to recall

Football clubs is a funny one as its tribal. But I would thin with clubs ect if it truly optional it would only take one to break ranks and others would follow suit. Depends how exactly the government plan to pressure them into doing it.
Weve already seen government use fear as a deliberate strategy to *nudge* behaviour. Achieved the outcome of increased fear but at a cost of fuelling conspiracy theories, lack of trust in govt messaging and data & long term psychological damage to some. So anything is on the table with this administration.

The end does not justify the means.

Many elements of Government policy over the past 18 months have involved trying to achieve a good outcome (e.g. fewer deaths/hospitalisations) but using unethical means.

I think some won't be happy until it's mandatory for every single person on earth to be fully vaccinated. Look at this lot of rubbish.

MPs vote in mandatory vaccination for those working in the care sector by a majority of 319 to 246.

What’s the difference between conspiracy theory and facts?

    About 6 months.

Impact assessment not completed even though it says its been done in the Bill. 90 minutes to debate the greatest erosion of human rights in British history. And it still got voted through.

Let’s hope there’s a massive queue of folk looking to clean up shitty dementia sufferers arses then for minimum wage.

It hasnt even been held to proper scrutiny in Parliament.

    It has been forced through.

its not even legislation in its own right just an amendment to the Covid Laws.

Anyone who supports this is a ****.

If passports are brought in some hospitality bosses will decide that's enough and give up. Then you will have the government even more short on money so having to raise costs in different areas to make up the shortfall and the hospitality places that stay open will make it less value for money because they know they could charge more from less competition in the area.

Ireland starting to enforce this rule. Appears to be pushback starting, not sure how far it will go: https://hugotalks.com/2021/07/13/ireland-cafe-says-no-to-passports-hugo-talks-some-more-lockdown/

With regards to opening up in the UK.

Can bar staff or amy worker come to think of it sue their employer should they get COVID and suffer a loss of income?

What is the difference between COVID and smoking?

You cant smoke in bars or pubs or indoors at events full stop , so why would these places reopen unless they were doing the maximum to prevent any of their staff catching COVID?

I think Football clubs might get to the point where they make sure all their players get fully vaccinated. I am not saying he hasn't been jabbed just that clubs to protect their investment might do their best to force them even if they don't want it.
